Orihuela opens 50,000 euro grants for trade promotion

The Orihuela City Council, through its Department of Commerce, has published the new call for grants for the implementation of commercial promotion and animation campaigns for the year 2026. The allocation amounts to 50,000.00 euros and the deadline for submitting applications is 10 calendar days from the publication of the summary in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante.
The call, signed by the Councilor-Delegate for Commerce, Vicente Pina López, is published in issue number 165 of the BOP of Alicante, dated September 1, 2026, and is identified in the National Grants Database (BDNS) with number 926836.
Purpose and beneficiaries
The call regulates the ordinary procedure, under a competitive bidding regime, for the granting of aid intended for entities that carry out activities and campaigns for the promotion and animation of commerce in the municipality. The following may apply:
- Merchant Associations of the municipality of Orihuela.
- Hospitality Associations of the municipality of Orihuela.
- Public Law Corporations based in Orihuela.
In all cases, the entities must be officially constituted, have their registered office or territorial headquarters in the municipality, and meet the requirements of the regulatory bases.
Bases and eligible activities
The specific bases governing the grant were approved by agreement of the Local Government Board dated July 8, 2025, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante No. 133, dated July 16, 2025. The grants will be awarded charged to the budget application 007-4314-4890000.
Activities carried out between September 1, 2025, and August 31, 2026, will be eligible for subsidies, a period that covers the commercial promotion and animation campaigns developed by the beneficiary entities during the fiscal year.
Deadline and submission of applications
Applications shall be formulated following the models accompanying the specific bases, available at the municipal electronic office and in the offices of the Department of Commerce. They must be addressed to the Mayor’s Office/Presidency of the Orihuela City Council through the Municipal General Registry or any of the procedures provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1.
The submission period will be 10 calendar days, counted from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOP of Alicante, via the BDNS. Beneficiary entities will be subject to the obligations of transparency, active publicity, and provision of information required under Law 19/2013, of December 9, and Law 1/2022, of April 13, of the Generalitat.
Impact on local commerce
The call for applications provides a new boost to the commercial and hospitality fabric of Orihuela, which will be able to finance revitalization campaigns at a key moment for the sector. With an application period of barely ten days, interested associations must act quickly so as not to miss the opportunity to access a grant of 50,000 euros intended to strengthen the commercial activity of the municipality.
