Ordes announces 25,000 euros in school supply grants for 2026-2027

The Ordes City Council announces financial aid for the purchase of school materials for the 2026-2027 academic year, with a maximum amount of 25,000 euros. The guidelines were approved by the Local Government Board in the session of September 4, 2026, and the extract of the call is published in the BOP of A Coruña number 183, dated September 24, 2026, with announcement number 2026/6120. The deadline for submitting applications ends on October 16, 2026.

The call is processed under a competitive bidding regime under Law 38/2003, of November 17, general subsidies, and the full text is available in the National Subsidy Database with identifier 930621. The regulatory guidelines were previously published in the BOP of A Coruña number 176, dated September 15, 2026, with a correction of errors on September 21, 2026. The announcement is signed by the mayor, José Luis Martínez Sanjurjo, in Ordes on September 21, 2026.

Requirements for beneficiary families

Families with children or wards of school age enrolled in public centers within the municipal district of Ordes, in early childhood, primary, or compulsory secondary education, who meet these requirements may apply for the aid:

• Be registered at the same address and effectively reside in the Ordes City Council as of the application deadline date.
• Be enrolled in a public center located in the municipal district of Ordes and not be repeating a grade.
• Not exceed a family per capita income of 10,000 euros, calculated by the sum of the IRPF taxable bases (boxes 435+460) divided by the computable members of the family unit.
• Not exceed 35,000 euros in the sum of the cadastral values of urban properties nor 13,000 euros in rural properties, excluding the primary residence.
• Not be a debtor to the municipal, regional, or state Treasury nor to Social Security, and have no pending subsidy justifications with the City Council.
• Not be subject to the prohibitions of Article 10 of Law 9/2007, of June 13, on subsidies in Galicia.

In cases of nullity, separation, divorce, or similar situations, the recipient will be the person who has been granted custody of the minor. In cases of foster care or adoption, it will be the person who has the award by administrative or judicial resolution. Family units with an open file in the municipal Department of Social Services who do not meet the requirements may access the aid if there is available credit and a favorable report from the social worker or family educator, with the approval of the Department of Social Policy.

Amounts according to income and educational stage

The amount of the aid is determined based on the family per capita income and the stage of studies, taking into account the contributions from the Xunta de Galicia (DOG number 90, of May 18, 2026) and the Order of April 29, 2026 of the Ministry of Education, Science, Universities and Vocational Training:

• Early childhood education: 90 euros with income up to 6,000 euros; 70 euros between 6,000 and 10,000 euros.
• Primary and compulsory secondary education (ESO): 50 euros with income up to 6,000 euros; 60 euros between 6,000 and 10,000 euros.

The Xunta does not call for school material grants for early childhood education, while grants do exist for textbooks and school materials for incomes up to 6,000 euros (75 euros) and from 6,000 to 10,000 euros (60 euros). In the event of a tie in scoring, preference will be given to applications with lower family income, and the submission of the application does not generate any right.

Payment via vouchers in local shops

Payment is made with a voucher for the amount of the grant, redeemable at participating establishments located within the municipal district of Ordes. Vouchers cannot be split: the total amount of each can only be used in a single establishment. Their validity is limited to the current school year and they can be exchanged until December 15, 2026.

The call is reinforced until the budgetary credit provided for in the municipal budgets is exhausted, so that the grants will be awarded by order of valuation and not by simple submission of the application.

The measure provides coverage for families with fewer resources at a time of high expenditure such as the start of the school year and, by paying with vouchers, channels the money toward local commerce in Ordes. Interested families have until October 16 to submit the application and must prove registration in the municipal census (empadronamiento), enrollment in a public center, and the income and asset limits set in the rules.
