The Burgos City Council announces competitive examination for occupational risk prevention technician

The Burgos City Council has published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Burgos the final list of admitted applicants and the constitution of the examining board to permanently fill a vacant position for occupational risk prevention technician/manager. This is a position assigned to the Special Administration scale, subscale B) Special Services, group A, subgroup A2, which is announced through a free competitive examination.

The agreement is included in reference BoPBur-2026-03424, published on Monday, August 17, 2026, in issue 154 of the BOP of Burgos, within section III of Local Administration. The resolution was signed on August 4, 2026, by Yolanda Barriuso Munguía, sixth deputy mayor.

31 admitted applicants and one excluded

Of all the candidates who submitted applications, a total of 31 applicants have finally been admitted to the selection process. The resolution also provides for the exclusion of a single candidate, Inmaculada Molto Elbal, who was rejected for not having completed the application form required as annex I, in accordance with basis 3.4 of the call’s terms.

Composition of the examining board

The publication also establishes the composition of the examining board that will evaluate the applicants:

  • Chairperson: Antonio Ruiz Sáiz, occupational risk prevention technician at the Burgos City Council.
  • Alternate Chairperson: Esmeralda Lozano Marco, Head of the Personnel and Internal Affairs Service at the Burgos City Council.
  • Regular Member 1: Fernando de la Parte Alcalde, occupational safety technician at the Junta de Castilla y León.
  • Alternate Member 1: Alejandro Sánchez Fernández, mid-level occupational risk prevention technician at the Provincial Council of Burgos.
  • Regular Member 2: Carlos Casado Marcos, Head of the Occupational Risk Prevention Service at the University of Burgos.
  • Alternate Member 2: Leire Santos Díez, Head of the Occupational Health and Prevention Section at the León City Council.
  • Regular Member 3: Germán Carbajo García, Head of the Prevention and Training Section at the Zamora City Council.
  • Alternate Member 3: Pilar Latorre Martínez, occupational risk prevention technician at the Logroño City Council.
  • Secretary: Carlos Javier Álvarez Palacios, senior technician at the Personnel Service of the Burgos City Council.
  • Alternate Secretary: Javier Antón Barroso, Deputy Head of the Personnel Section at the Burgos City Council.

The examining board is made up of professionals from local administrations in Castilla y León, La Rioja and Zamora, which guarantees the neutrality and specialization of the evaluating body.

Date and format of the first exam

The first exercise of the competitive examination will be held on September 8, 2026, at 1:00 PM, in the Multipurpose Room of the Fire Station building of the Burgos City Council, located at Avenida Cantabria, number 58 (09006) Burgos.

The exam will consist of a 90-question questionnaire on the content of the syllabus included as Annex II of the specific rules of the call. The specific rules were published in Official Bulletin of the Province of Burgos number 43 of March 4, 2026 and in Official Bulletin of Castilla y León number 48 of March 11, 2026.

A key position in occupational prevention

The position of technician responsible for occupational risk prevention is a fundamental role to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations within the Burgos City Council. The call, which is processed under the system of open competitive examination for permanent coverage, responds to the need to provide the local administration with a professional specialized in risk prevention, an essential function to protect the integrity of municipal workers and users of public services.
