Por FactBox Admin

The Ontiñena City Council has called for a competitive bidding process for the lease of two municipally-owned homes intended for new residents, according to the announcement published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Huesca number 158, dated Thursday, August 20, 2026. The call, signed by Mayor José Javier Ferrer Jordán, is processed via mayoral decree dated August 18, 2026, and sets a deadline of 20 business days for the submission of offers.

The initiative is part of the municipal strategy to combat depopulation, making two heritage properties available at affordable prices to those wishing to settle in the municipality. The file, number 1883053C and NIF P2223100E, is processed by the council’s Municipal Secretariat.

The offered homes

The two homes are located in the urban center of Ontiñena and have different characteristics in terms of surface area and number of rooms:

  • Home no. 1: Calle El Pilar, no. 57, First Floor, 74.14 m², two rooms, with a rent of 277.83 euros per month.
  • Home no. 2: Calle Nueva, no. 2, First Floor, 88.81 m², three rooms, with a rent of 319.86 euros per month.

Both properties are leased as heritage assets through a competitive bidding procedure with ordinary processing. The award criteria are those contained in the Ninth Clause of the Particular Administrative Clauses Specifications governing the contract.

How to submit offers

Interested parties may submit their proposals at the offices of the Secretariat of the Ontiñena City Council, at Plaza Mayor, no. 1, 22232 Ontiñena, or through the electronic office https://ontinena.sedipualba.es. The submission period is 20 business days starting from the publication of the announcement in the provincial gazette.

To obtain documentation and information, interested parties may contact the Municipal Secretariat by telephone at 974468175 or by email at ayto.onty@gmail.com, until the day before the deadline for the submission of proposals.

An opportunity to repopulate

The call is added to the measures that small Aragonese municipalities are promoting to attract new neighbors by offering public housing at moderate prices. With rents below 320 euros per month, the two homes in Ontiñena represent a direct opportunity for those seeking to settle in a rural environment with reduced housing costs.

The announcement, published in the Local Administration section of the gazette, reinforces the role of city councils as active agents in the fight against depopulation, making municipal heritage available to new residents that would otherwise remain unused.
