Ten positions for Local Police inspector via internal promotion and mobility

The Galician Academy of Public Security (AGASP), dependent on the Ministry of Presidency, Justice and Sports of the Xunta de Galicia, has announced the selective process for access via internal promotion and the provision process via mobility to the category of inspector within the Local Police forces of Galicia. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 189, Friday, October 2, 2026, by means of the Resolution of September 2, 2026, from the General Directorate of the AGASP (announcement 2026/6342). In total, eleven positions are offered across five municipalities: nine via internal promotion and two via mobility.

The call derives from the Order of August 11, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of Galicia number 158, August 21, 2026, which approved the general regulatory bases and announced the selective process for access via internal promotion (procedure code PR461F) and the provision process via mobility (procedure code PR461J) in the Local Police forces of Galicia, executive scale, inspector category.

Subsequently, in the Official Gazette of Galicia number 166, September 2, 2026, the order that modified the object of the previous call was published, adding one more position in the municipality of Santiago de Compostela through the internal promotion system. The resolution now disseminated in the provincial gazette already includes the final number and characteristics of the announced positions.

Eleven positions distributed across five municipalities

The announcement details the distribution of positions by municipality and by access system:

• Vigo: 3 positions via internal promotion and 1 via mobility.
• Santiago de Compostela: 3 positions via internal promotion.
• Ferrol: 2 positions via internal promotion.
• Vilagarcía de Arousa: 1 position via internal promotion.
• Teo: 1 position via mobility.

Altogether, the offer totals nine positions reserved for internal promotion and two more for provision through mobility between forces.

Deadline for submission of applications

The deadline for submitting applications is twenty business days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement of the call order and the order of its modification in the Official State Gazette. Successive announcements regarding this process will be made public in accordance with the bases of the call.

The resolution is dated September 2, 2026, in A Estrada and signed by the general director of the Galician Academy of Public Security, Santiago Villanueva Álvarez. The insertion in the provincial gazette is authorized by the general secretary of the Presidency, Beatriz Cuiña Barja.
