Olot appointed Pau Masó Ros as a temporary communications technician for 42,309 euros

The Plenary of the Olot City Council has appointed Pau Masó Ros as temporary staff to occupy the position of trust and special advisory communication technician, assigned to the General Services of the Mayor’s Office. The appointment takes effect from September 14, 2026, and carries a gross annual remuneration of 42,309.62 euros. The agreement was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Girona no. 198, of October 14, 2026, in edict 8648 (official reference BOP-2026_0_198_8648, p. 1-1).

The edict states that the municipal Plenary, in the session dated September 24, 2026, reported the appointment agreements, and that the document was signed by the mayor, Agustí Arbós i Torrent, on October 2, 2026. A position of trust assigned to the Mayor’s Office

The position is integrated into group A2 and assigned to General Services, within the Mayor’s Office. According to the agreement, the appointed person is considered suitable for the development of the assigned tasks and meets the required qualification requirements.

Free dismissal and link to the mandate

The agreement establishes that the appointed person may be freely dismissed or separated by the mayor-president at any time during the current mandate of the corporation. In any case, temporary staff automatically cease when the dismissal occurs or the mandate of the authority who appointed them and to whom they provide their function of trust or advisory expires.

The remuneration will be charged to budget items 26 10016 922 11000, for basic and complementary remuneration of temporary staff from the municipal budget.

Background: dismissals and creation of a new position

The appointment comes after a period of movements in the council’s temporary staff. On September 7, 2026, the BOP of Girona no. 172 (edict 7737, BOP-2026_0_172_7737) published two dismissals resolved by the mayor’s office:

• Itziar González Virós, by decree of August 3, 2026 (2026LDEC003109), from the position of direction and coordination of the Social Architecture Intervention Strategy in the Old Town, subgroup A1, effective July 31, 2026.
• Nerea Guisasola Saguer, by decree of August 21, 2026 (2026LDEC003430), from the position of communication technician, subgroup A2, effective August 24, 2026.

A few days later, on October 1, 2026, the BOP of Girona no. 189 (edict 8446, BOP-2026_0_189_8446) published the modification of the list of positions reserved for temporary staff, with the creation of a new position:

• Title: advisor for digital content and communication for the Mayor’s Office.
• Assignment: general services, Mayor’s Office Area, group A, subgroup A2.
• Working day: full-time, 35 hours per week.
• Dedication: exclusive to trust functions and special advisory to the Mayor’s Office.
• Gross annual remuneration: 28,000.00 euros.

This agreement was also adopted in the plenary session of September 24, 2026, and included advisory functions for social media content, audiovisual formats, and dissemination narratives for Mayor’s Office projects.

The publication is made in accordance with article 12 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of October 30, approving the revised text of the Law of the Basic Statute of the Public Employee; article 104 of Law 7/1985, of April 18, regulating the bases of the local regime; and articles 9 and following of Decree 214/1990, of July 30, approving the personnel regulations for the service of local entities.
