Eight justices of the peace appointed in four municipalities of Guadalajara

The Governing Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Castilla-La Mancha agreed, in its meeting on September 4, 2026, to the appointment of titular and substitute justices of the peace for four municipalities in the province of Guadalajara. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara, number 172, dated September 9, 2026, by means of an edict signed by the secretary of the court’s Government, Sigfrido Mangas Morales.

Legal framework of the appointment

The appointments are made by virtue of the provisions of Regulation number 3/1995, of June 7, published in the Official State Gazette on July 13, 1995 (article 20), and in accordance with articles 101.2 and 101.4 of the Organic Law of the Judiciary. The Governing Chamber acted as a commission, in compliance with the agreement adopted by the Plenary of the General Council of the Judiciary on December 1, 1995.

The appointments

The agreement designates eight people, one titular and one substitute for each municipality:

• Titular Justice of the Peace of Sayatón: Ana Isabel Alvarado Sanz.
• Substitute Justice of the Peace of Sayatón: Yolanda Iniesta del Olmo.
• Titular Justice of the Peace of Valdeavellano: Francisco Javier Mata Rojo.
• Substitute Justice of the Peace of Valdeavellano: Francisco Mata Maíquez.
• Titular Justice of the Peace of Barriopedro: Deolinda Viejo Díaz.
• Substitute Justice of the Peace of Barriopedro: Eva García Mayoral.
• Titular Justice of the Peace of Puebla de Beleña: Juan José Ramiro Blas.
• Substitute Justice of the Peace of Puebla de Beleña: Gabriel Ramiro Gordo.

Assumption of office and mandate

Those appointed must assume their office within twenty calendar days following the date of publication of their appointment in the gazette, after taking an oath or making a promise before the Judge of First Instance and Instruction of the district, or before the Dean if there are several. The duration of the mandate shall be four years, computed from the date of publication of the appointment. Anyone who has already taken an oath or made a promise previously for the same office shall not be required to repeat it.

Appeals

An administrative appeal (recurso de alzada) may be filed against the appointment agreement within a period of one month, counted from the day following its notification or publication, before the Permanent Commission of the General Council of the Judiciary, in accordance with the formalities of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

The renewal of these positions guarantees the continuity of the local administration of justice in the small municipalities of the province, where the justice of the peace constitutes the first accessible judicial instance for the residents.
