Public information is opened for the school canteen of CEIP Santa Agnès de Corona

The Department of Education and Universities of the Government of the Balearic Islands has opened the public information process for the regional project of special strategic interest (PEIE) for the works to enable a school canteen at CEIP Santa Agnès de Corona, in the municipality of Sant Antoni de Portmany. The announcement, signed by the regional secretary of Educational Development, Mateo Suñer Servera, is published in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (BOIB) no. 110, of September 3, 2026, section V, page 47988.

The project was declared a regional PEIE by agreement of the Governing Council on July 10, 2026, published in the BOIB no. 87, of July 11, 2026. The declaration is based on article 27 of Law 4/2026, of June 11, on urgent measures to accelerate strategic projects that contribute to the economic transformation of the Balearic Islands and other administrative simplification and rationalization measures.

A process of fifteen business days

According to article 28 of Law 4/2026, projects declared of special regional strategic interest do not require any municipal license or authorization, although they remain subject to the same requirements that would be demandable for an urban planning license. Prior to authorization, it is mandatory to request a report from the city council where the facility is located and to carry out the public information process of the project.

The consultation period is fifteen business days, counting from the day after the publication of the announcement in the BOIB. During this period, the valued technical report for the adaptation of a space as a school canteen in catering modality can be consulted, relating to the legalization, adaptation, and enabling of the canteen at CEIP Santa Agnès de Corona.

Where to consult the project

The project can be consulted in person at the following points:

• Department of Education and Universities (carrer del Ter, 16, Polígon de Son Fuster, Palma).
• Territorial Directorate of Education of Menorca (carrer de Josep Maria Quadrado, 33, Maó).
• Territorial Directorate of Education of Ibiza and Formentera (Via Púnica, 23, Ibiza), every working day between 9 am and 2 pm.
• Sant Antoni de Portmany City Council.

Likewise, the project can be consulted electronically through the official website of the Department of Education and Universities.

How to submit allegations

Allegations may be submitted at any of the locations determined by Article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the common administrative procedure of public administrations, and shall be addressed to the Autonomous Secretariat of Educational Development, located at carrer del Ter, 16, Polígon de Son Fuster, Palma (DIR3: A04047521). Electronic submission can be made through the general application procedure at the CAIB Electronic Office, also addressed to this secretariat.

The enabling of the school dining room at CEIP Santa Agnès de Corona, on the plot with cadastral reference 000200300CD52B0001GF, directly affects the families of the school, who now have a period of fifteen business days to consult the project and make contributions before the final authorization.
