Por FactBox Admin

The City Council of Pereiro de Aguiar announces grants of 250 euros per boy or girl born, adopted, or placed under guardianship between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2026, which will be paid via the “Benvido/a ao Pereiro VI” electronic card. The Local Government Board approved the regulatory bases in the ordinary session of October 16, 2026, and the announcement was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ourense on October 26, 2026, in section IV of Local Entities, with the reference BDNS 935812.
A direct grant of 250 euros per minor
The bases, integrated into the Plan Reactiva Pereiro, grant the aid through non-competitive concurrence under article 19.2 of Law 9/2007, of June 13, on subsidies in Galicia. The amount is fixed: 250.00 euros for each boy or girl, and each minor entitles the applicant to a single grant.
The expenditure is charged to budget application 231.480-03, with a maximum credit that may be extended in the cases provided for in article 30.2 of Decree 11/2009, of January 8. The receipt of this grant is compatible with any other subsidy from the State, the Xunta de Galicia, the Provincial Deputation of Ourense, or another administration.
Requirements: one year of registration and child registered in the census
Parents, adopters, or guardians of minors born, adopted, or placed under guardianship in the 2024-2026 period may apply for the grant, provided they meet these conditions:
- Be registered in the City Council of Pereiro de Aguiar on the date of the application, with a minimum seniority of one uninterrupted year immediately prior.
- The minor must be registered by birth in the municipal census or, in the case of adoption or guardianship, be registered before the application.
- Not have had parental authority withdrawn nor have guardianship or custody assumed by a public institution.
In cases of separation or divorce, the beneficiary will be the parent who has custody; with joint custody, a single grant will be awarded to the first person to apply, resolved by order of entry in the registry.
Application period and documentation
The period begins the day following the publication in the BOP and ends on December 15, 2026, for births, adoptions, or guardianships registered between January 1, 2024, and November 30, 2026. If the event occurs between December 1 and 31, 2026, the period is extended until January 15, 2027.
Submission can be in person or electronically, through the municipal electronic office via the general application procedure. Along with the standardized form, the following must be provided:
- Copy of the DNI, NIE, or passport of the applicant.
- Certificate of registration (empadronamiento) of the applicant and the minor, only if consultation is not authorized.
- Literal certification of birth registration from the Civil Registry.
- Judicial or administrative resolution establishing the adoption or guardianship.
- Regulatory agreement, separation sentence, divorce, or modification of measures, if applicable.
Anyone who was a beneficiary of the “CHEGOU” card from the Provincial Deputation of Ourense in 2024, 2025, or 2026 is exempt from providing the first four documents, replacing them with an authorization for data consultation with the Deputation.
Card for local commerce and pharmacy expenses
The beneficiary must collect the card at the municipal offices and activate it through the banking entity, with a maximum activation deadline until May 31, 2027. The balance is only valid for purchases or payments in local commerce within the province of Ourense: online commerce and cash withdrawals from ATMs or offices are excluded.
Eligible expenses are hygienic, food, and health products acquired in pharmacies or parapharmacies, always subsequent to the birth or adoption and until May 31, 2027. Unused amounts will be automatically returned to the council.
The processing includes a provisional resolution with a ten-day period for allegations and a final resolution; publications on the municipal website and the electronic headquarters replace personal notification. An appeal for reversal (recurso de reposición) may be filed before the mayor, Luis Menor Pérez, within one month, or an administrative-law appeal (recurso contencioso-administrativo) within two months.
The call consolidates direct municipal support for the current expenditure of families with young children, with a fixed amount and a closed payment system that directs the money to small businesses and pharmacies in the province, while requiring prior municipal residency to access the benefit.
