The budget for The Road, challenged before two courts
Por FactBox Admin

The 2026 municipal budget of the Council of A Estrada is being subject to judicial challenge. The Official Gazette of the Province of Pontevedra (no. 176, Monday, September 14, 2026) publishes two summons notices for potential interested parties to appear in the contentious-administrative proceedings PO 201/2026 and PA 160/2026, both filed against the municipal accounts for the current fiscal year.
The notices, digitally signed by Mayor Gonzalo Louzaod Dono, were issued based on Mayoralty resolutions 2026-1336 (September 8) and 2026-1339 (September 10), and are processed through the municipal Audit department.
Two appeals, two courts
Each appeal is directed to a different judicial body, reflecting the parallel processing of the challenges against the same budget:
- PO 201/2026, case file 5507/2026, with NIG 15030 33 3 2026 0000716: interested parties must appear before the 1st Section of the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Galicia.
- PA 160/2026, case file 5504/2026, with NIG 36038 45 3 2026 0000461: the appearance must be made before the Contentious-Administrative Section of the Court of First Instance of Pontevedra, Plaza no. 2.
Deadline and legal basis
In both cases, persons who may be interested have a period of nine days to appear before the corresponding judicial body. The notification is carried out under article 49.1 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, regulating the contentious-administrative jurisdiction, and article 45.1 a) of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the legal regime and common administrative procedure of Public Administrations.
The documents, signed in A Estrada on September 10, 2026, can be verified on the electronic headquarters of the Deputación de Pontevedra using the secure verification code accompanying each notice.
What it means for residents
The judicial challenge of the municipal budget opens a period of uncertainty regarding the execution of the 2026 accounts of the Council of A Estrada. The resolution of the appeals will determine whether the budget is maintained, corrected, or partially annulled, which may affect expenditure and investment items planned for the year. Interested parties wishing to appear in the proceedings must do so within the nine-day period to be able to defend their rights before the courts.
