Inega extends the deadline for renewable energy grants until October

The Galician Energy Institute (Inega) has extended the deadline until October 23, 2026, to execute projects and submit the supporting documentation for grants for thermal and photovoltaic renewable energies in the residential sector in non-urban areas. The decision, adopted through two resolutions by the director of the organization, Pablo Fernández Vila, on August 21, 2026, was published in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) no. 161 on August 26.

The extension affects beneficiaries whose deadline was September 30, 2026, and responds to the numerous requests for extension registered, motivated by technical difficulties and delays in material deliveries by suppliers. The organization emphasizes that there is no possibility of causing prejudice to third parties, a requirement that enables the extension.

Two lines of aid, one same deadline

The first resolution modifies article 28 of the regulatory bases of December 16, 2025, which regulate subsidies for thermal renewable energy projects in the residential sector in non-urban areas, corresponding to procedure codes IN421H and IN421P. The second acts on article 27 of the bases of September 30, 2025, referring to grants for photovoltaic energy in the same area, with codes IN421N and IN421O.

Both lines are processed under a competitive bidding regime and are co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) within the framework of the CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027 in Galicia.

Regulatory framework of the extension

The extension is based on article 45.3 of Decree 11/2009, of January 8, which approves the Regulation of Law 9/2007, of June 13, on subsidies in Galicia. This regulation allows the granting body to grant an extension of the justification period that does not exceed half of the original period, provided that the rights of third parties are not prejudiced.

The resolutions will also be published on the organization’s website (www.inega.gal), for the purposes provided for in article 45.3 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the common administrative procedure (LPACAP). No appeal of any kind may be filed against this agreement, according to article 32.3 of the same law.

With this extension, Inega prevents the grants from remaining unrealized and ensures that self-consumption and renewable climate control projects in non-urban environments can be completed within the fiscal year.
