The San Froilán 2026 poster contest: 2,000 euros prize

The City Council of Lugo, through its Area of Culture, Education, Sports, Childhood and Youth, announces the graphic design prize for the poster announcing the patron saint festivities of San Froilán 2026, endowed with €2,000.00 and with a submission period of fifteen working days. The extract of the rules is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo number 184, of Thursday, 13 August 2026, with reference R. 2182 and identifier BDNS 923815.

The announcement appears in the section of the Ministry of Finance corresponding to the National Database of Subsidies (BDNS), in application of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of 17 November, on general subsidies, and the full text of the call is available in the BDNS itself. The purpose of the competition is to obtain a design that helps to exalt the city of Lugo and its patron saint festivities, which will be held from 4 to 12 October and have been declared a Festival of Galician and State Tourist Interest. In the same edition of the gazette, the «San Froilán Miúdo» award (BDNS 923826) is also published, aimed at children under 15 years of age and endowed with €300.00.

Participation and mandatory elements of the poster

As many authors as wish may participate, with works of free technique, and each person may submit as many works as they consider appropriate, provided they are original. The designs must include the following textual and graphic contents:

• LUGO, SAN FROILÁN 2026
• 4-12 OCTOBER
• The corporate image of the City Council
• The mentions «Festa de Interese Turístico Galego» and «Festa de Interese Turístico Estatal»
• The web address www.sanfroilan.info
• The logos of the social networks Instagram, X, Facebook and YouTube

Technical format and prize

The author of the winning design will receive a prize of €2,000.00. The works must be submitted in digital JPG format, with dimensions of 50 x 70 cm and 72 dpi resolution (1,417 x 1,984 pixels), and the use of artificial intelligence technologies for their creation is expressly prohibited.

Submission of applications and deadline

Applications must be submitted with the indication «CARTEL SAN FROILÁN 2026» through any of the following channels:

• The website of the City Council of Lugo, Electronic Headquarters, Telematic Registry service (lugo.gal/portal/tramites/X100)
• The General Registry of the City Council of Lugo (Ronda da Muralla, 197, 27002 Lugo), from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 14:00, or by any other means provided for in article 16 of Law 39/2015, of 1 October, on the Common Administrative Procedure

The submission period is fifteen working days, counted from the day following the publication of the extract in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo. The rules were signed in Lugo on 6 August 2026 by the deputy mayor in charge of the Area of Culture, Education, Sports, Childhood and Youth, Javier Vázquez Prado.

The San Froilán poster is the image with which Lugo presents itself to thousands of visitors every October, at a festival declared of tourist interest for Galicia and the State; for creators, the competition represents an opportunity for visibility and direct economic recognition of their work. The outcome of the contest will be announced through the official channels of the City Council, thus opening the calendar for the 2026 celebration.
