The City Council of A Coruña announces seven positions in four selection processes

The City Council of A Coruña publishes in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña (BOP no. 164, of August 28, 2026) the specific rules for four selection processes totaling seven civil servant positions, called via open competition and internal promotion. The calls were authorized by Resolution of the Delegated Councilor responsible for Economy and Strategic Planning, by delegation of the Local Government Board, dated August 6, 2026.

The rules are complementary to the general selection procedure established in the general rules for access to civil servant positions of the Council, approved by Resolution of the Delegated Councilor for Economy, Finance, and Internal Regime on 04/12/2023 (BOP no. 73 of 04/18/2023). Applications shall be submitted electronically via the electronic office (sede.coruna.gal) through the procedure “Participation in selection tests”, within a period of 20 business days counting from the publication of the summary of the call in the BOE.

Open competition positions

Three of the calls correspond to the open competition, with a selection system by competitive examination:

• Auxiliary Technician for audiovisual techniques (subgroup C1), 1 position, C.E. 11/24, included in the OEP of the year 2024 (announcement 2026/5478).
• Specialist Technician for scientific museums (subgroup C1), 1 position, C.E. 15/25, included in the OEP of the year 2025 (announcement 2026/5479).
• Environmental Technician (subgroup A1), 2 positions, C.E. 6/26, included in the OEP of the year 2026 (announcement 2026/5480).

Internal promotion

The fourth call is processed via internal promotion, with a contest-examination system:

• Senior Technician for scientific museums (subgroup A1), 3 positions, C.E. 17/25, included in the OEP of the year 2025 (announcement 2026/5481).

For this route, it is required to be a career civil servant in subgroup A2 of the special administration scale (Medium Technician of the Casa das Ciencias, Scientific Museums, or Aquariology) and to have provided effective services for at least 2 years.

Requirements and fees

Applicants must possess the requirements on the day the submission deadline ends and maintain them until appointment. Specific requirements include:

• For subgroup C1 positions, a vocational training qualification of intermediate or higher level in Image and Sound (and, in the case of scientific museums, also Informatics, Installation and Maintenance, Electricity, or Mechanical Fabrication).
• For subgroup A1 positions, a university degree or licensure in the field of sciences or engineering and architecture.

The examination fee is €14.94 for subgroup C1 positions and €24.88 for subgroup A1 positions, with exemptions for persons with a disability degree equal to or greater than 33% and for those registered as job seekers for at least 6 months prior to the publication of the call.

Selection process

The competitive examination phase consists of three mandatory and eliminatory exercises (multiple-choice questionnaire, practical case study, and Galician language test), except in the case of environmental technician, which provides for four exercises. In the internal promotion process, once the competitive examination is passed, a competition phase is carried out in which the merits alleged and accredited with the application are valued. The first exercise will not take place before 3 months following the publication of the call in the BOP.

These calls expand the opportunities for access and promotion to municipal public employment, both for people with technical and scientific training and for civil servants already in active service, as part of the A Coruña City Council’s commitment to reinforce its technical services and the city’s scientific museums.
