The City Council of A Coruña opens grants of 30,000 euros for adapted taxis

The City Council of A Coruña announces grants for a total amount of 30,000 euros for the maintenance and compensation of expenses for taxis adapted for the transport of people with reduced mobility during the 2026 fiscal year. The call is made public in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña (BOP) number 181, of September 22, 2026, through the extract of Resolution 17,974, of September 16, 2026, from the delegated councilwoman for Citizen Security, Mobility, and Interior. Interested parties have 15 business days to submit the application starting from the day following publication.

The resolution bears the signature of the delegated councilwoman for Citizen Security, Mobility, and Interior, M.ª Montserrat Paz Romero, acting by delegation of the Agreement of the Local Government Board of 07/31/2026 (BOP number 147, of August 5, 2026). The announcement is published under number 2026/6071 and is registered in the National Grants Database with the identifier BDNS 930130, where the full text of the call can be consulted.

The call is governed by the specific municipal ordinance for grants for the Urban Mobility Service (BOP number 47, of 02/26/2008), by the General Grants Law 38/2003, by the Galicia Grants Law 9/2007, and by Royal Decree 887/2006, in addition to the municipal ordinance of general regulatory bases (BOP number 157, of 08/16/2024).

30,000 euros divided equally among the licenses

The total credit is 30,000.00 euros, charged to the budgetary application 41.4412.47901, titled “other grants to private companies” of the municipal budget. This amount is the maximum limit of the grants that can be awarded.

The distribution is made in equal parts among all licenses of the applications that meet the requirements, until the available credit is exhausted. The amount granted to each beneficiary may not exceed the amount justified with invoices; if the assigned amount exceeds that individual limit, the remaining amounts are again divided equally among the participating licenses.

The aid is compatible with other public or private grants, but the sum cannot exceed the justified cost. As de minimis aid, the total amount granted to the same company cannot exceed 300,000 euros in any three-year period, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/2831.

Covered expenses and excluded expenses

Expenses incurred between January 1, 2026, and the date of publication of the call in the BOP may be subsidized, provided they correspond to the nature of the activity:

• Fuel.
• Vehicle maintenance.
• Vehicle repair.
• Vehicle insurance.
• Other current expenses coinciding with the call.

Invoices must include the license plate number of the adapted taxi and prove the direct relationship with the activity. The following are excluded, among others:

• Wage costs and social security contributions, both for workers and license holders.
• Provisions, compensations, or tributes.
• Debit interest on bank accounts.
• Interest, surcharges, and administrative or criminal penalties.
• Costs of judicial proceedings.
• Recoverable indirect taxes and personal income taxes.

Who can apply and how

Beneficiaries may be natural or legal persons, groups of persons, communities of assets, and any economic unit or separate estate, provided they hold an adapted taxi license granted by the City Council of A Coruña for the transport of people with reduced mobility or disabilities. In groups without legal personality, each member acquires the status of beneficiary and must appoint a representative person.

Applications are preferably submitted through the municipal electronic office (https://sede.coruna.gal/sede/gl); those who are not required to interact electronically may also do so in person at the general registry of the City Council. Payment is made after justifying the expense, via deposit into the bank account indicated in the application.

The call provides economic coverage for an essential service for people with reduced mobility, while relieving the current costs of the adapted taxi sector in the city. The 15-business-day deadline requires license holders to prepare the invoices for the fiscal year as soon as possible so as not to lose the aid.
