Por FactBox Admin

The City Council of A Coruña opens the call for grants to support taxi transport for people with severe mobility disabilities during the year 2027, with a total budget of 180,000 euros. The resolution, dated October 1, 2026, is signed by the delegated councilwoman responsible for the Area of Social Welfare, Participation and Equality, Nereida María Canosa Domínguez, and the extract is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña (BOP) no. 192, of October 8, 2026, with announcement number 2026/6428 and identifier BDNS 933038.
The publication is made in accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, and the full text of the call can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database (BDNS). The specific call is governed by its own regulatory bases and by the Municipal ordinance of general regulatory bases for the granting of subsidies by the City Council of A Coruña and its public bodies, whose final approval was published in the BOP of A Coruña no. 157, of August 16, 2024.
The measure comes after the call for the previous exercise, approved by Resolution 17.974, of 16/09/2026, of the delegated councilwoman for Citizen Security, Mobility and Interior (BDNS 930130), which had a different objective: to subsidize the conservation and maintenance costs of vehicles owned by holders of an adapted taxi license in the municipality. The new line, on the other hand, is directed specifically at the users of the service.
Who can apply for the grants
People with a disability recognized by the competent body of the Xunta de Galicia or competent Administration, which severely affects their mobility and prevents them from using collective public transport, may qualify as beneficiaries. - Be over 3 years of age.
- Reside within the municipal boundaries of the Concello da Coruña and be registered as a resident there.
- Have the status of a person with a disability legally recognized through a resolution or equivalent document from the competent body, stating that the disability severely affects mobility and prevents the use of collective public transport.
- If the applicant is active, not have this benefit recognized by a collective agreement, employment contract, or any other accrediting title, nor be entitled to the service through ISFAS, MUFACE, or another entity.
- Not be listed as the owner of a vehicle, according to the data from the Vehicle Registry of the General Directorate of Traffic.
- Not have an economic capacity exceeding 210% of the IPREM in effect in the year 2025.

How and when to submit the application
The application shall be submitted electronically via the electronic office of the Concello da Coruña, within a period of one (1) month starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOP, that is, from October 9, 2026. They may also be submitted in person at the General Entry Registry of the City Council or by any of the means regulated in article 16 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.
The delegation of the councilwoman to sign the resolution shall be based on the Agreement of the Local Government Board of 07/31/2026, published in BOP no. 147, of August 5, 2026.
The call guarantees an alternative transport service for a group that cannot use collective public transport, with an allocation maintained at 180,000 euros distributed between 2027 and 2028. For the affected families, the one-month deadline from the publication in the BOP marks the key moment to gather the supporting documentation of disability, residency, and economic situation.
