O Censo Electoral publica as mesas electorais de toda a provincia de Lugo

The Electoral Census Office of the Provincial Delegation of Lugo has made public the list of sections, venues, and polling stations for the elections to the Congress of Deputies and the Senate on November 29, 2026. The announcement occupies the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo number 233, corresponding to Monday, October 12, 2026, and covers all municipalities in the province. The text was signed in Lugo on October 9, 2026, by the provincial delegate of the office, José Manuel Colmenero Álvarez, and bears the reference R. 2763.

The call stems from Royal Decree 806/2026, of October 5, from the Presidency of the Government, published in the Official State Gazette on October 6. The list thus carries out the legal mandate to delimit the sections and to determine the venues and polling stations for each one before each electoral process. The Electoral Census Office is the body responsible for preparing and maintaining the census, and its provincial delegation publishes these lists for each call.

The announcement is headed with the title “Elections to the General Courts of November 29, 2026” and is organized municipality by municipality. For each one, it details the district, the section, the subsection, and the polling stations, along with the streets, places, and population entities that each station comprises. The list occupies pages 3 to 539 of the gazette.

A municipality-by-municipality list

The publication goes through the municipalities of the province from Abadín, with code 001, to Viveiro, with 066, and adds the two municipalities with their own numbering: Baralla (901) and Burela (902). Each municipality appears divided into districts and sections, and each section into subsections and polling stations.

  • Abadín opens the list with sections 001, 002, and 003.
  • Lugo, with code 028, is the municipality with the most districts and sections.
  • Viveiro (066), Vilalba (065), and Sarria (057) are among those with the most polling stations.
  • Baralla and Burela close the list with codes 901 and 902.

Electoral venues and distribution of polling stations

The chosen venues are mostly public facilities: town halls, socio-cultural centers, schools and former schools, colleges, and institutes. When a section is divided into several polling stations, the announcement indicates which voters vote at each one according to the initial of the first surname.

  • Casa da Cultura of Burela, at Rúa Pardo Bazán 6.
  • I.E.S. “O Perdouro”, at Rúa Instituto 1, in Burela.
  • Xove Civic Center, at Camiño Real.
  • “Gustavo Freire” Municipal Auditorium and Municipal Fire Station, in Lugo.
  • Veterinary Faculty and Pazo da Deputación Provincial de Lugo.
  • In Burela, in section 001, voters whose first surname begins between A and J vote at station A, and those between K and Z at station B.

Six days to claim

In the six days following the publication, electors may file claims against the delimitation carried out before the Provincial Electoral Board, according to article 24 of the Organic Law of the General Electoral Regime. The deadline applies to the entire electorate of the province of Lugo.

The publication determines where and at which table each elector from Lugo must vote on November 29. Any error in the assignment of a street, a place, or a table may displace an elector from their usual polling station, which is why the review of the list in the following six days is the only mechanism provided to correct it before the date of the polls.
