The census changes six polling stations in four municipalities for 29N

The Provincial Office of the Electoral Census of Pontevedra, dependent on the Provincial Delegation of the National Statistics Institute (INE), has modified the location of six polling stations distributed across four municipalities in the province for the general elections of November 29, 2026. The correction is made public through an edict of electoral procedures in the Official Gazette of the Province of Pontevedra (BOPPO) no. 208, corresponding to Wednesday, October 28, 2026, with the official reference 2026075171. The measure directly affects voters in the indicated sections in Bueu, Lalín, Pontevedra, and Tomiño, who must confirm the new location before voting day.

The edict bases its validity on article 24.2 of the Organic Law 5/1985, of June 19, on the General Electoral Regime, as amended by Organic Law 3/1995, of March 23. This is, therefore, an update to the list of stations and premises that had already been published on October 12, 2026, in the BOPPO, in an announcement that included the delimitation of sections and the location of all voting premises in the province. Only the stations and locations listed in the new edict are now modified; the rest of the previous list remains unchanged.

The initial publication of October 12 was based on the electoral section boundaries set for the Electoral Census closed on August 1, 2026. Against that delimitation, voters could file claims before the Provincial Electoral Board within six days following the publication, as provided for in article 24.3 of the same regulation.

Four municipalities and six stations affected

The edict lists six specific stations, with premises, address, and postal code:

• Bueu: district 01, section 001, stations A and B, at the Torrente Ballester Municipal Library of Bueu, at Rúa Ramal dos Galos 2, 36930 Bueu (San Martiño).
• Lalín: district 04, section 001, station B, at the Filgueira Social Center, Ribas Altas 12, 36512 Lalín (Filgueira, Santa María A.).
• Pontevedra: district 01, section 003, stations A and B, at the Maruxa Mallo International Creativity Center, at Rúa Alfonso XIII 7, 36002 Pontevedra.
• Tomiño: district 02, section 002, station B, at the Casa Social, Bouzón 23, 36739 Tomiño (Piñeiro, San Salvador P.).

Of the six changes, four correspond to double stations —A and B in Bueu and Pontevedra— while Lalín and Tomiño only see the modification of station B in each of their districts and sections. All locations are buildings under municipal ownership or use, well-known in the respective municipalities.

A previous correction in the same procedure

This same announcement had already been the subject of a previous rectification. On October 14, 2026, the BOPPO published a correction of errors amending the summary of the announcement from October 12: where it said “in relation to the upcoming municipal elections of November 29, 2026,” it should have said “in relation to the upcoming general elections of November 29, 2026.” The correction clarified that the announcement referred to in the summary was correct in its content, meaning the error only affected the heading. The text now being modified again expressly invokes the “General Elections” of November 29.

Where to consult the updated list

The list of sections, venues, and polling stations can be consulted both at the Provincial Delegation of the Electoral Census Office and in the respective town halls. The edict is published with the electronic signature of the Deputación de Pontevedra and a secure verification code, O66429H4FQGWDUQ9, which allows the integrity of the document to be verified through the provincial institution’s electronic office.

The relevance of the news lies in the practical effect: four days after the usual census consultation period began, voters from two complete sections (001 of Bueu and 003 of Pontevedra) and two specific polling stations (Lalín and Tomiño) have a different voting point than what appeared in the initial publication. An error regarding the venue could prevent the exercise of the vote or force unnecessary travel on November 29, therefore it is advisable to verify the section and polling station before heading to the polls.
