O Barco calls for a parks and gardens officer position

The City Council of Barco de Valdeorras announces a selection process to permanently fill one position as a parks and gardens official, belonging to the fixed labor personnel framework. The call was approved by Mayoral Resolution 2026/1483, dated August 19, 2026, and is published in full in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ourense on September 2, 2026, section IV (Local Entities), with reference R. 2.050.
The position is assigned to the Parks and Gardens Unit, with code 04.02.03.02 of the Job Position List, and is included in the council’s public employment offer for the year 2023. The selection system is that of competition-examination (concurso-oposición), via open call, and the position is classified in group IV, level 17, assimilated to subgroup C2.
Requirements and documentation
To participate, applicants must meet, among others, the following requirements:
- Hold Spanish nationality or another that allows access to public employment.
- Possess a graduate degree in ESO (compulsory secondary education), first-level vocational training, or equivalents.
- Hold a valid class B driver’s license without limitations.
- Accredit knowledge of the Galician language (Celga 3 or equivalent) or pass the specific test.
Applications shall be submitted at the General Registry of the council, Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 14:00 hours, or through the electronic office (sede.concellodobarco.gal), within a period of 20 business days starting the day after the publication of the announcement in the Official State Gazette. No payment of examination fee is required.
Phases of the selection process
The process consists of an examination phase, with three eliminatory exercises, and a merit competition phase:
- First exercise: multiple-choice test of 40 questions, with a maximum score of 10 points and a minimum of 5 to pass.
- Second exercise: manual practical tests related to the functions of the position, graded from 0 to 10.
- Third exercise: verification of Galician language knowledge, graded as fit or unfit.
- Competition phase: assessment of merits, with a maximum of 10 points, including professional experience (up to 6 points) and complementary training (up to 3.25 points).
The order of action for applicants will begin alphabetically with the letter M, according to the draw published by the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration.

The call represents an opportunity for stable public employment in the Valdeorras region, in a technical position for the maintenance and conservation of green spaces.
