Nuevos jueces de paz para Peralta de Alcofea, Altorricón y Laluenga

The Commission of the Governing Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Aragon has agreed upon the appointment of the titular and substitute justices of the peace for Peralta de Alcofea, Altorricón, and Laluenga. The agreement, adopted at the meeting on September 17, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Huesca number 189, corresponding to Friday, October 2, 2026, with the official reference BOPH-2026-189030. The five appointees must take office within twenty calendar days following the publication, subject to the appropriate oath.

The appointment is issued in compliance with the current provisions of the Organic Law of the Judiciary and Regulation number 3/1995, of June 7, on Justices of the Peace. The publication is carried out by virtue of Article 8 of said regulation, and the announcement appears in the Administration of Justice section of the gazette, under registration number 4351 of the Governing Secretariat of the Aragonese high court. The agreement bears the signature of the Governing Secretary, María Dolores Yuste González de Rueda, and is dated in Zaragoza on September 25, 2026, with the annex of the list of appointments closed on September 29, 2026.

The five appointments by judicial district

The list published in the annex of the edict distributes the designations among two judicial districts and three municipalities:

  • Rosendo de Valois Oliva, titular justice of the peace of Peralta de Alcofea (judicial district of Huesca).
  • Yolanda Arazo Grasa, substitute justice of the peace of Peralta de Alcofea (judicial district of Huesca).
  • Francisco Bometón Cancer, titular justice of the peace of Altorricón (judicial district of Monzón).
  • Joaquín Clau Laborda, titular justice of the peace of Laluenga (judicial district of Monzón).
  • Antonio Cristóbal Alquézar Pueyo, substitute justice of the peace of Laluenga (judicial district of Monzón).

In this way, Peralta de Alcofea and Laluenga cover both the titular and substitute positions, while Altorricón receives only the appointment of the titular justice in this resolution.

Twenty calendar days to take office

The edict sets a single deadline for the five appointees: they must take office within twenty calendar days following the date of publication of their appointment in the Official Gazette of the Province, that is, counting from October 2, 2026. Taking office requires, where applicable, a prior oath.

The text further recalls that the agreement is published in accordance with Article 8 of Regulation number 3/1995 and that, according to Article 12, an administrative appeal or a review appeal may be filed against the resolution before the Plenary of the General Council of the Judiciary, within the time limits, grounds, and forms established by Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

Background in the same bulletin

This Friday’s publication follows two previous announcements from the same Secretaría de Gobierno (Government Secretariat) in the Official Bulletin of the Province of Huesca. On September 2, 2026, issue number 167 (reference BOPH-2026-167023) included the call for the vacancy of titular justice of the peace of Sena, agreed upon by the Commission of the Governing Chamber in its meeting on May 21, 2026, with an application period of twenty calendar days.

One week later, issue number 172, dated September 9, 2026 (reference BOPH-2026-172013), published another block of appointments for the province of Huesca, with designations in municipalities such as Tella-Sin, Bisaurri, Sahún, Belver de Cinca, Piracés, Torralba de Aragón, and Canfranc, agreed upon in the Commission’s meeting on July 17, 2026.

Impact on proximity justice

Justices of the peace are the first judicial instance in municipalities where there is no court of first instance and instruction, and they assume competencies in minor civil matters, conciliation acts, and certain civil registry functions. With these five appointments, Peralta de Alcofea, Altorricón, and Laluenga guarantee the continuity of a service that prevents their residents from having to travel to the headquarters of the judicial district for local procedures. Furthermore, filling the titular and substitute positions in two of the three municipalities reduces the risk of interruptions due to the absence or resignation of the appointees.
