Appeal filed by nine officers

Nine officers of the Burgos Local Police have filed an administrative contentious appeal against the Burgos City Council so that their ranking as newly appointed officers within the local police force is maintained and respected. The notice is published in the Official Bulletin of the Province of Burgos (BOP) number 155, corresponding to Tuesday, August 18, 2026, with the official reference BoPBur-2026-03540.

The filing, registered under the abbreviated procedure P.A. 267/2025, is addressed to the Court of First Instance, Administrative Contentious Section, court number 2 of Burgos. Legal basis and appearance deadline

The appeal is based on the defense of the right of the nine officers to occupy the place that corresponds to them in the ranking according to the effective date of taking office. The appellants consider that the reinstatement of other colleagues from the same selection process —ordered by court rulings whose execution has led to new incorporations— violates their right to seniority and to the position that legitimately corresponds to them.

The notice published in the BOP establishes a period of nine days for those who might appear as defendants in the appeal to appear before the court, in accordance with articles 49 and 50, in relation to article 21, of the Law regulating the Administrative Contentious Jurisdiction (Law 29/1998, of July 13).
