Nueva Carteya approves the electric scooter ordinance and opens the period for allegations

The City Council of Nueva Carteya has initially approved the municipal Ordinance regulating Personal Mobility Vehicles, the category that encompasses electric scooters. The agreement was adopted by the Plenary in an extraordinary session on August 31, 2026, unanimously, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba on Thursday, September 17, 2026 (no. 180, page 13297), with the official reference BOP-A-2026-3080. The regulation is now open to the public for thirty business days for the submission of allegations.

The announcement is signed by the mayor-president, Eduardo García Roldán, who reports on the plenary agreement and makes it public “for general knowledge.” The session was held with the attendance of six of the thirteen members of the corporation, and the initial approval agreement was adopted unanimously. The signed document is dated September 7, 2026, in Nueva Carteya.

Initial approval and public exhibition

The first point of the agreement initially approves the municipal ordinance. The second orders the public exhibition of that agreement through an announcement that will be posted on the municipal notice board for a period of thirty business days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province.

During this period, interested parties may examine the file and present any allegations they deem appropriate. The text does not detail the material content of the ordinance, which will be known in full when the final approval is published.

Tacit final approval if there are no claims

The third point of the agreement establishes that, if no claims or suggestions are presented within the indicated period, the ordinance will be considered definitively approved without the need for an express agreement from the Plenary. In that case, the agreement of tacit final approval, including the full text of the regulation, will be published for general knowledge on the City Council notice board and in the Official Gazette of the Province.

Subsequent procedures and authorization of the mayor

The agreement also establishes the following procedures and deadlines:

• Thirty business days of public exhibition, counting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province, to examine the file and present allegations.
• Fifteen days to send to the State Administration and the corresponding department of the Autonomous Community the certification proving the elevation of the initial approval to final, along with a full authenticated copy.
• Publication of the full text on the City Council notice board and in the Official Gazette of the Province once definitively approved.

The fourth point empowers the mayor-president to execute and sign all types of documents related to this matter. The announcement incorporates a Secure Verification Code (25F6 AF3B 29E7 6874 FB6B) with a signing date of September 17, 2026.

The processing of this ordinance places Nueva Carteya among the municipalities that provide their own regulatory coverage for personal mobility vehicles, a field that has until now been regulated in a dispersed manner. The allegations period is the only open channel for residents, users, and local groups to influence the text before its final approval; therefore, the final content of the regulation will depend on the claims submitted within the next thirty business days.
