Nouveaux membres nommés aux comités de l'Agence fédérale des médicaments

On August 30, 2026, the King signed a royal decree regarding the replacement of members of the Transparency Committee and the Advisory Committee of the Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (FAMHP). The text, proposed by the Minister of Public Health F. Vandenbroucke, is published in the Belgian Official Gazette of September 10, 2026, page 49557, under the official reference [C − 2026/006595].

The decree is based notably on the law of July 20, 2006, relating to the creation and operation of the FAMHP (Article 10), on the royal decrees of February 25, 2007, establishing the composition and operation of the Advisory Committee and the Transparency Committee, as well as on the law of July 20, 1990, aimed at promoting the balanced presence of men and women in advisory bodies. The opinion of the Inspector of Finance was given on July 14, 2026.

Two replacements are made within the Transparency Committee, for the remaining duration of the mandates, as full members:

  • Koen Straetmans is replaced by Hendrik De Rocker, representative of the Belgian Pharmaceutical Association;

Entry into force

In accordance with Article 10 of the decree, the text enters into force on the day following its publication in the Belgian Official Gazette, namely September 11, 2026. The Minister responsible for Public Health is charged with the execution of the decree.

These appointments ensure the continuity of the work of the two advisory bodies of the FAMHP, which provide opinions on price transparency and the reimbursement of medicines, as well as on scientific and regulatory issues. For healthcare professionals, manufacturers, and patients, the renewal of these seats guarantees that the expert bodies remain fully operational and representative of the sector’s stakeholders.
