The Ministry of the Presidency of the Junta de Castilla y León has appointed career civil servants to the Body of University Graduates of the First Cycle, Health Scale (ATS/DUE, Specialist in Occupational Health ATS) from among the candidates who passed the open access selection process, assigning them definitive destinations in the provinces of Zamora and León. The appointment is formalized by Order PRE/838/2026, of August 28, published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León number 170, of September 2, 2026.
The measure reinforces the Community’s health workforce with two mid-level public health technicians, specialists in occupational nursing, who are joining the territorial health services of both provinces.
Framework of the selection process
The appointment stems from the selection process convened by Resolution of July 16, 2025, of the Vice-Ministry of Public Administrations and Citizen Services, for entry via the open access system into the aforementioned body. The list of candidates who passed the tests was approved and published by Resolution of June 24, 2026, disseminated in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León on June 29, upon the proposal of the Qualifying Tribunal.
Following the deadline for the submission of documents, the Ministry of the Presidency now proceeds to appoint those who documented compliance with the requirements demanded in the call, in accordance with the eleventh basis of the convening order and under the powers attributed to the counselor regarding Public Service by article 7.2.l) of Law 7/2005, of May 24, on the Public Service of Castilla y León.
Appointments and destinations
The order definitively assigns the job positions to the two candidates, both via the open shift, as mid-level public health technicians (group A2, level 22):
- Susana Moro del Campo, assigned to the Health Promotion and Occupational Health Section of the Territorial Health Service of Zamora.
- María Belén Laso Prieto, assigned to the Health Promotion and Occupational Health Section of the Territorial Health Service of León.
Both positions belong to the Ministry of Health, within its General Secretariat, and require the status of a specialist nurse in the ATS/DUE occupational health scale.
Assumption of office and requirements
Those appointed must take office within one month from the day following the publication of the order, before the General Secretary or the corresponding Territorial Delegate. During this act, they must present the declaration provided for in article 31.3 of Decree 227/1997, of November 20, regarding incompatibilities of personnel in the service of the Community Administration.
To acquire the status of career civil servant, interested parties must take an oath or promise to abide by the Constitution, the Statute of Autonomy of Castilla y León, and the laws, in accordance with article 36.1.c) of Law 7/2005 and Royal Decree 707/1979, of April 5. The order, signed by the Counselor of the Presidency, Luis Miguel González Gago, exhausts the administrative route and may be appealed before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of Valladolid of the High Court of Justice of Castilla y León within two months.
Relevance for the Community
With these appointments, the Junta consolidates in ownership two specialized health positions in occupational health, definitively filling posts that until now depended on temporary coverage. The incorporation of career personnel in the territorial services of Zamora and León provides stability to the preventive and occupational healthcare of the Community, in line with the reinforcement of the public workforce promoted by the Department of Health.
