Nerea Monroy Rosal, new Counselor for Social Rights and Welfare

The President of the Principality of Asturias, Adrián Barbón Rodríguez, has appointed Nerea Monroy Rosal as Counselor for Social Rights and Welfare, a top-level position that places the new head in charge of all Asturian social policy. The appointment is formalized through Decree 28/2026, of August 28, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) number 168, of August 31, 2026, in the Authorities and Personnel section.

The decision is adopted in accordance with the provisions of article 32.2 of the Statute of Autonomy of the Principality of Asturias and articles 17.b), 18.1, and 33 of the Law of the Principality of Asturias 6/1984, of July 5, on the President and the Governing Council, which regulate the composition of the Governing Council and the appointment procedure for its members.
