Neila auctions timber harvesting rights from the Ahedo-Pinar forest for 150,000 euros

The Neila City Council has called for a public auction for the awarding of timber harvesting rights for public utility forest number 243, Ahedo-Pinar, corresponding to the 2024 annual period, for a net amount of 150,000.00 euros plus VAT. The call is made in accordance with the Plenary agreement of July 7, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Burgos number 158, dated August 21, 2026, with official reference BOPBUR-2026-03533.

The file, processed by the municipal Secretariat under number 76/2026, is part of the ordinary auction procedure and affects a municipally-owned forest located in the Sierra de la Demanda region, a forest enclave of great value for the province’s timber sector.

Object and conditions of the tender

The contract comprises a single lot, identified as MA/243/E/2024/02, which groups the timber harvesting rights corresponding to the 2024 annual period. The net tender amount is 150,000.00 euros, to which the corresponding VAT must be added.

Requirements and submission of bids

Bidders must prove economic and financial solvency, as well as technical and professional solvency. Bids shall be submitted exclusively in electronic file format through the procurement platform of the Most Excellent Provincial Council of Burgos, at the address https://central.burgos.es/inicio.do.

• Submission deadline: fifteen calendar days from the publication of the announcement in the contractor profile and procurement center; if the last day falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, it will be extended to the next business day.

Expenses and conditions of the awardee

The awardee shall bear the costs of the tender announcement, as well as taxes, marking expenses, improvement funds, and all costs derived from the formalization and execution of the harvesting, as detailed in the specifications. The announcement, signed by Mayor Miguel Santamaría Velasco on August 11, 2026, sets the deadline for obtaining documentation at fifteen calendar days from the insertion of the announcement in the contractor profile.

The auction represents a significant opportunity for the forestry sector of the Sierra de la Demanda, which will see a lot of timber harvesting rights of considerable economic value at stake.
