Navia appoints four interim Local Police officers

The Navia City Council has agreed to the appointment of four interim officials as Local Police officers, assigned to the Public Safety functional area, according to the announcement published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) number 170, dated September 2, 2026. The decision, adopted by resolution of the Mayor’s Office-Presidency dated August 7, 2026, is processed under file RHU/2026/36.
The new officers
The resolution designates four people to occupy the Local Police officer positions under an interim regime:
- Iván Fernández García
- Mario López Fernández
- Marcos Díaz Ares
- Cristian Fernández Marcos
All of them are assigned to the Public Safety functional area, which represents a direct reinforcement of the security force’s staff in the council.

- Contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Oviedo, within a period of two months, counting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the BOPA.
If the optional appeal for reversal is chosen, the contentious-administrative appeal cannot be filed until the former is expressly resolved or dismissed by silence, without prejudice to any other appeal deemed more convenient.

The appointment of these four interim officers reinforces the operational capacity of the Navia Local Police in the area of Public Safety, one of the municipality’s priorities.
