Por FactBox Admin

The City Council of Navas de San Juan has initially approved the municipality’s Basic Municipal Planning Plan (PBOM), along with its Strategic Environmental Study, and is submitting it for public review for a period of 45 days. This was made public in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén, number 166, dated August 27, 2026, via the edict with reference 2026/3919.

The initial approval was adopted by the Plenary Council in an ordinary session held on July 30, 2026, according to the announcement signed by the mayor-president, Joaquín Requena Requena, on August 12, 2026. The technical document was drafted by the Civil Engineer Juan Vicente Cameros López.

Regulatory Framework

The PBOM is processed in accordance with the determinations and procedure of Law 7/2002, of December 17, on Urban Planning of Andalusia, currently repealed by Law 7/2021, of December 1, for the Promotion of Territorial Sustainability of Andalusia (LISTA), and in accordance with the provisions of its 3rd transitional provision.

The processing is further supported by the following precepts:

  • Article 78.3 of LISTA.
  • Article 104.1 of the General Regulation of Law 7/2021, approved by Decree 550/2022, of November 29.
  • Article 38.4 of Law 7/2007, of July 9, on Integrated Environmental Quality Management.

Public Information and Consultation

The PBOM and the Strategic Environmental Study are subject to public review for 45 days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement in the OFFICIAL GAZETTE of the Province. During this period, the file remains available for examination by any person at the municipal offices.

Additionally, the plan may be consulted on the City Council’s electronic office, at the address enabled for this purpose. The announcement is published for the general knowledge of the affected residents and owners.

Relevance for the Municipality

The initial approval of the PBOM defines the urban future of Navas de San Juan, an instrument that organizes the land, uses, and planned actions within the municipal district and directly affects all owners and residents. The public information period opens the door for any interested party to submit allegations before the final approval, in a process that will mark the development of the municipality in the coming years.
