Navarra convoca 722 plazas docentes de Secundaria, Idiomas y Formación Profesional

The Department of Education of the Government of Navarra has announced 722 teaching positions for Secondary Education, Official Language Schools, and Vocational Training, of which 72 are reserved for persons with disabilities. The call is contained in Resolution 232/2026, dated September 15, from the director of the Teaching Personnel Selection and Provision Service, which the Official Gazette of Navarra publishes in full this Thursday, October 29 (issue 216, pages 38359 to 38397). Applicants will have a period of 20 calendar days, starting the day after publication, to formalize their application electronically.

A corrected publication that reopens the deadline

The resolution had already appeared in the Official Gazette of Navarra issue 214, dated October 27, 2026, but was inserted by error in the “1.7. Others” section. Through a correction of errors announcement dated October 27, the gazette republishes it in full in the correct section, “1.2.2. Competitive examinations and contests. Public Employment Offer,” so that the participation deadlines are counted from this publication on the 29th.

The regulatory framework is Organic Law 2/2006, of May 3, on Education, and Royal Decree 276/2007, of February 23, which imposes the competitive examination-contest system, along with Foral Law 17/2017, of December 27, regulating access to the teaching public service. The positions come from the partial public employment offers approved by foral decrees 116/2024 and 119/2024, both of December 27, Foral Decree 96/2025, of August 27, and Foral Decree 59/2026, of August 26. This last block is completed by Foral Decree 60/2026, of August 26, which modifies the organic staff and assigns specialty and language to the 722 positions.

A process culminating in the 2027-2028 academic year

The competitive examination phase consists of two eliminatory tests and requires the prior submission of a didactic program, for which the five-working-day deadline will not open before April 9, 2027. The tribunals will have five members and will be appointed by specialty and language, with the possibility of forming selection committees when the volume of applicants requires it.

Those who pass the process will be appointed as trainee civil servants and will take office as career civil servants effective September 1 of the academic year following the internship phase. An administrative appeal may be filed against the resolution before the Counselor of Interior, Public Service, and Justice within one month.

The call affects thousands of applicants from across the Foral Community and determines the staffing coverage of the Navarrese educational system for the next academic year, in addition to renewing the lists of candidates for temporary hiring.
