Narón announces grants of 60 euros per child for Christmas gifts

The Narón City Council opens the application period for grants of 60 euros per minor intended for the purchase of Christmas gifts. The call was approved by the Mayor’s Office by resolution on September 17, 2026, and is published in the extract of the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña (BOP) number 184, dated September 25, 2026, under announcement number 2026/6159.

The measure is regulated by the bases approved by the Mayor’s Office on September 17, 2026, and published in BOP number 181, dated September 22, 2026 (2026/6028). The call is registered in the National Grants Database with the identifier BDNS 930051 and is processed under a competitive bidding regime, subject to the General Grants Ordinance of the Narón City Council, the General Grants Law 38/2003 of November 17, RD 887/2006, and the Galician Grants Law 9/2007 of June 13.

The declared objective is to ensure that minors from the most disadvantaged families in the municipality receive a Christmas gift, contributing to the equality of boys and girls experiencing a precarious economic situation. The grant is financed through budget application 2312.48002 of the 2027 budget, with a maximum amount of 15,000 euros, and is processed as an anticipated file under article 56 of RD 887/2006.

Requirements and income limits

Beneficiaries may be persons registered in Narón with a minimum seniority of 6 months, calculated up to the last day of application submission, who have children under the age of 16 (between 0 and 16 years old) as of December 31, 2026.

• Legal representatives (father, mother, or guardian) of the minors.
• In cases of nullity, separation, or divorce, the parent who has been granted custody; in shared custody, only one of the two may apply.
• In foster care, the person or persons who have been granted it by administrative resolution or judicial order.

Cohabitation units that exceed the annual income limits set based on the number of members, referring to the current annual IPREM, are excluded:

• 2 members: IPREM + 70%.
• 3 members: IPREM + 90%.
• 4 members: IPREM + 110%.
• 5 members: IPREM + 130%.
• 6 members: IPREM + 150%.
• 7 or more members: IPREM + 170%.

Amount, payment, and use of funds

The grant is 60 euros per minor and is paid via a “VOUCHER” signed by the Mayor’s Office or the Delegated Department of Social Welfare. The voucher is presented at any commercial establishment within the municipal district of Narón that accepts this means of payment, for a maximum amount coinciding with the granted aid.

The vouchers, which are held in the name of the applicant, are delivered starting from the first business day of 2027, cannot be split, and can only be used in a single establishment. If the value of the items is lower than that of the voucher, the business will not refund the difference; if it is higher, the beneficiary pays the excess.

Expenditure allows for toys, books, clothing, footwear, sports equipment, educational materials, musical instruments, computer equipment, and other items typical of Christmas. Food, cleaning, and hygiene products are excluded.

Deadline, processing, and resolution

The deadline for submitting applications is 15 business days starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOP, that is, from September 26, 2026. Applications are submitted through the electronic office of the Narón City Council, at the General Registry, or by any of the means provided for in Article 16 of Law 39/2015.

The instruction corresponds to the Municipal Socio-Community Service and the resolution to the Mayor’s Office, following a report from the Evaluation Commission, composed of the Mayor or the delegated councillor for Social Welfare, the Head of the Socio-Community Service, a management technician, and the General Secretariat of the Council.

The maximum period for resolution is six months from the application, with negative administrative silence. If the available credit is insufficient, preference will be given to applications with the lowest family income. The grants are compatible with others from any public or private administration, provided that the total does not exceed 100% of the actual cost of the financed materials.

For families registered in Narón with low incomes, the call represents direct and immediate support for extraordinary Christmas spending, with a 60-euro voucher per son or daughter that can be spent in local commerce. The deadline is short —15 business days from September 26— and the granting is subject to the existence of credit, therefore applications with lower family income have priority if the budget of 15,000 euros is exhausted.
