Narón opens public consultation on the new urban taxi fares
Por FactBox Admin

The Narón City Council has opened a public information period of fifteen business days regarding the proposal for urban taxi fares submitted by the Narón Radio-Taxi Association. The announcement, signed by Mayor Marián Ferreiro Díaz, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 203, dated Friday, October 23, 2026, with the official reference 2026/6790. The decision directly affects both taxi license holders and the users of the service in the municipality.
The proposal entered the municipal registry on September 29, 2026, via a written document with entry registry number 20818. The professional association justifies the revision based on the need to guarantee “the economic profitability of taxi activity” in Narón and provides, along with the request, an economic justification study of expenses and income. The announcement is included in the Local Administration section, within the municipal section of Narón and under the heading of the Mayor’s Office, and is dated Narón, October 19, 2026.
Taxi services in Galicia are subject to a regime of mandatory fares, meaning that any modification to the fare schedule must be processed through administrative channels and published for general knowledge. Law 4/2013, of May 30, on public transport of persons in tourist vehicles in Galicia, and Decree 103/2018, which develops it, constitute the framework supporting municipal taxi ordinances, which reserve the approval of fares applicable to urban services to the city council.
Fifteen business days to examine the file
The public exhibition period is fifteen business days and is counted from the day following the insertion of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province, that is, from Monday, October 26, 2026. During this period, the complete file can be consulted at the Mayor’s Office of the Narón City Council.
Interested parties may submit any allegations they deem appropriate within this same period. The opening of the procedure covers the entire process, not only the fare document:
- The fare proposal submitted by the sector entity.
- The accompanying economic study of expenses and income.
- The rest of the documentation incorporated into the administrative file.
What is being submitted for debate
The object of the public information is the set of urban fares that the association considers necessary to apply within the municipal boundaries of Narón. The announcement does not detail specific amounts or headings, which must be consulted in the file deposited at the Mayor’s Office.
The revision affects the prices paid by users for trips within the municipality and, therefore, the income of professionals operating with a municipal license. Furthermore, the processing takes place within a context of cost reviews in the sector, which is the argument put forward by the association itself to request the update.
Who decides and how it is processed
The competence to approve urban tariffs corresponds to the Narón City Council, and the announcement is signed by the mayor, Marián Ferreiro Díaz, which places the final resolution within the scope of the Mayor’s Office. Publication in the provincial bulletin is the requirement that formally opens the participation process.
Once the period for allegations has closed, the council must evaluate the contributions received before fixing the new tariff schedule. Until then, and unless there is an express resolution, the application of the current tariffs remains in effect.
The relevance of the news is twofold: for Narón’s taxi drivers, because the update affects the economic viability of an activity with a limited municipal license; for the residents, because any increase is directly transferred to the cost of urban travel. The open process is, furthermore, the only formal channel for individuals and groups to present objections before the council approves the new price regime.
