Mutxamel opens the application period for 300 podiatry vouchers for pensioners

The Mutxamel City Council has approved the regulatory bases and the call for grants for the “Bono Podología Mutxamel, Peus en Marxa” 2026 program, which will distribute 300 vouchers of 10 euros among pensioners registered in the municipality through a public draw. The resolution of the Mayor’s Office-Presidency was adopted on September 22, 2026, and the edict is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante no. 183, of September 25, 2026, section III (Local Administration), with reference 7265/2026. The application period runs from September 28 to October 13.

The program is processed under a competitive bidding regime, in accordance with article 22.1 of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, and article 11 of the General Subsidies Ordinance of the Mutxamel City Council, approved by the Plenary on November 27, 2025, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante no. 52, of March 17, 2026. The initiative originates from the Delegated Department for the Elderly and its file number is 5860/2026.

The call is financed through budget application 314.33430.48028 of the 2026 Municipal Budget, with a maximum credit of 3,000.00 euros and expenditure authorization accounting document (A) reference 202631400000221. The Municipal Comptroller’s Office issued a favorable audit report.

A 10-euro voucher per beneficiary

Each voucher has a value of 10.00 euros and is applied as a direct discount on the price of a podiatry session at an affiliated center. Each beneficiary may use a maximum of 1 voucher during the validity of the call, the fourth quarter of 2026.

The access requirements are:

• Being a pensioner, with no age limit.
• Being registered as a resident in Mutxamel.
• Not exceeding annual gross income of 2.25 times the IPREM calculated over fourteen payments (18,900 euros per year).
• Not falling under the circumstances of article 13, paragraphs 2 and 3, of the General Subsidies Law.
• Accepting the bases and the data protection policy.

The application is formalized using the standardized model of Annex II and requires a DNI or NIE, pensioner certificate, responsible declaration, Income Tax return or certificate from the AEAT and, if applicable, a certificate of residency.

Public draw and reserve list

Since all admitted applications compete on equal terms, without criteria of grading or merit, the award criterion is the result of a public draw among the admitted applications, up to the limit of 300 vouchers and within the available credit. The draw will be held in a public act announced at least five days in advance on the electronic notice board and the municipal website, before the General Secretariat, and minutes will be drawn up.

The first 300 positions of the draw will be provisionally designated as beneficiaries, and the remainder will constitute an ordered reserve list to cover withdrawals. The instruction corresponds to the Office for the Elderly and the assessment to a commission composed of the Delegated Department for the Elderly, technical staff from said office, and the Head of the Legal-Administrative Service of the Person Service Area. The Mayor’s resolution must be notified within one month from the end of the application period; if not, the application shall be understood as rejected by administrative silence.

Voucher exchange and clinic affiliation

Vouchers may be exchanged between November 13 and December 18, in no case exceeding December 31, 2026, and the user must prove their identity with a DNI or NIE. Affiliated centers must justify the sessions provided before December 23 to collect the 10 euros per voucher.

Podiatry clinics and centers that meet these requirements may affiliate free of charge:

• Have a physical premises open to the public within the municipality of Mutxamel.
• Have professional staff registered with the corresponding Official College of Podiatrists.
• Be up to date with their tax and Social Security obligations.

Affiliation is submitted using the Annex I form at the General Registry or the electronic office until October 16.

The measure responds to municipal competence in matters of social services and the purpose of preventing mobility problems and promoting active and healthy aging. For pensioners in Mutxamel, the program represents a direct saving of 10 euros per session, although limited to 300 vouchers and conditional upon the result of the draw.
