The project to expand the emergency water supply in Mungia has been definitively approved

Consorcio de Aguas Bilbao Bizkaia has definitively approved the project to extend the water supply to the Emerando neighborhood of Mungia. The agreement was reached by the organization’s Comité Directivo (Steering Committee) during its ordinary meeting held on July 21, 2026, and was published in the Boletín Oficial de Bizkaia on September 25, 2026, in issue number 184, section II. The decision affects the residents of the Emerando neighborhood and exhausts the administrative route.

Appeals and deadlines

The agreement exhausts the administrative route. Interested parties have two options:

• A contentious-administrative appeal directly before the Administrative Litigation Chamber of the Bilbao Tribunal de Instancia, within two months from the day following the receipt of the notification.
• An optional appeal for reconsideration before the Comité Directivo of the Consorcio de Aguas Bilbao Bizkaia, within one month from the day following the receipt of the notification.

If an appeal for reconsideration is filed, no contentious-administrative appeal may be filed until the former has been expressly resolved or tacitly rejected. All of this is without prejudice to the possibility of filing any other appeal.
