Fine of 49,181 euros for a community due to occupational hazards

The General Directorate of Labor of the Government of the Canary Islands has made public the sanction of 49,181.00 euros imposed on the Comunidad de Propietarios Residencial La Caleta for a very serious infringement regarding occupational risk prevention. The resolution, signed on September 1, 2026, by the Director General of Labor, José Ramón Rodríguez Albertus, is published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands number 182, dated September 10, 2026, once the sanction has become final.

The announcement corresponds to sanctioning file SANREG 0050-2026 and is part of the procedure regulated by Royal Decree 597/2007, of May 4, on the publication of sanctions for very serious infringements in occupational risk prevention, in development of article 40.2 of the consolidated text of the Law on Infringements and Sanctions in the Social Order, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 5/2000, of August 4.

The infringement and its legal basis

The sanction is imposed for the commission of a very serious infringement typified in article 13.10 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2000, which regulates conduct contrary to occupational risk prevention regulations. The infringement report was issued on June 15, 2026, and the sanction became final on August 26, 2026, from which point the competent body is obliged to make it public.

The competence to issue the resolution corresponds to the Director General of Labor by virtue of article 12.2.f) of Decree 37/2024, of March 4, which approves the Organic Regulation of the Ministry of Tourism and Employment.
