Fine of 49,181 euros for an Alicante builder due to asbestos risk

The General Directorate of Labor, Cooperativism, and Occupational Safety of the Generalitat Valenciana has ordered the publication of the final sanction of 49,181 euros imposed on Juan Carlos García García, a residential building contractor residing at calle Teniente Llorca 42, 5.º B, Alicante, for violating occupational risk prevention regulations in work involving exposure to asbestos. The resolution, signed on July 16, 2026, by the general director Maria Lurueña Ruiz, is published in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana number 10439, dated August 28, 2026.

The sanction derives from the sanctioning procedure with case number 032022SAT000623, initiated via the infringement report 32022000095311, issued by the Labor and Social Security Inspectorate of Alicante on May 16, 2022. The sanction became final on June 5, 2026.

The Infringement

Regulatory Framework

The final sanctioning resolution may be challenged before the judicial bodies of the social jurisdictional order within two months from the day following its notification, pursuant to Law 36/2011, regulating social jurisdiction. Furthermore, according to article 4.2 of Royal Decree 597/2007, the sanction data will be deleted five years from the day following its publication.
