Por FactBox Admin

The Mos City Council has approved the tax rolls for waste collection and sewage fees corresponding to the 2026 financial year, according to the announcement published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Pontevedra (BOPPO) number 201, dated Monday, October 19, 2026, in the Local Administration section. The agreement was adopted by the Local Government Board in its session on October 9, 2026. Following this publication, affected taxpayers have a period of fifteen days to examine the rolls and, subsequently, one month to appeal.
Public exhibition and appeal for reversal
The rolls will remain open for public inspection at the municipal offices for fifteen days starting from the publication of the announcement in the provincial gazette. This announcement serves as a collective notification under article 102.3 of Law 58/2003, of December 17, General Tax Law.
During the exhibition period, interested parties may examine the documentation and file an appeal for reversal prior to contentious-administrative proceedings before the Mayor’s Office. The deadline for filing is one month, counted from the day following the end of the public exhibition, in accordance with article 14.2 of the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5.
Voluntary collection from November 1 to December 31
Communication to the affected taxpayers is carried out in accordance with article 12 of the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, in relation to article 62 of the General Tax Law and articles 23 and following of the General Collection Regulations, approved by Royal Decree 939/2005, of July 29.
The voluntary collection period for the 2026 waste and sewage fees is set for the following dates:
- Start: November 1, 2026.
- End: December 31, 2026, both dates inclusive.
- Payment deadline: December 31, 2026, during the teller hours of each collaborating banking entity or, where applicable, via payment ATMs and electronic banking.
Payment is made using the payment instruments (receipts) that will be sent to the taxpayers’ addresses through three collaborating banking entities: ABANCA, Banco Sabadell Galego, and CaixaBank.
What to do if the receipt does not arrive
Taxpayers who do not receive the payment instruments at their addresses may request them until December 30, 2026, at the council’s Collection Office, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The announcement warns that the non-receipt of the receipt does not exempt the obligation to pay nor prevent the use of enforcement proceedings.
The expiration of the voluntary period without the debt being settled determines the start of the executive procedure, the perception of the corresponding surcharge and other collectible concepts, as established in articles 26 and 28 of the General Tax Law and articles 70 and following of the General Collection Regulations. As a matter of convenience, the council advises setting up a direct debit for the payment of taxes at any banking entity, by filling out the direct debit form provided at the Collection Office.
The announcement is signed by the mayor, Nidia María Arévalo Gómez, and by the acting treasurer, Manuel Castro Carpintero, and bears the secure verification code AGUFC5T0CUPT36LY.
The publication affects all taxpayers in the municipality subject to these two municipal fees, so any resident with a waste or vacancy receipt must take the calendar into account: those who do not pay before December 31 will enter the executive phase with a surcharge, and those who wish to dispute the census have one month from the end of the public exhibition to file an appeal before the Mayor’s Office.
