Montmeló adjudica a Mediterra Datacenters l'ocupació del subsòl per a un datacenter

The City Council of Montmeló has approved the direct award of an administrative concession of a public domain nature in favor of Mediterra Datacenters Iberia, SLU for the occupation of the public domain subsoil destined for electrical and data infrastructure. The agreement was adopted by the municipal Plenary in an ordinary session on July 28, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona on September 29, 2026, with the reference CVE 202610145043. The document submits the agreement and the regulatory specifications of the concession to public information for 30 business days.

The promoter is Mediterra Datacenters Iberia, SLU, with NIF B21689039. The concession is processed in accordance with Article 66 of Decree 336/1988, of October 17, which approves the regulation of the assets of local entities, and the announcement is signed by the acting mayor, Imanol Martín García, with a signature date of August 5, 2026. This is an occupation of the public domain located in the subsoil, not a transfer of ownership, and the publication occupies page 1-1 of the municipal announcement.

Two subsoil sections and 944.93 square meters

The occupation is divided into two sections, both linked to electrical lines and the crossing of the Congost river:

  • Section 1: from the electrical line of the Montmeló substation to the crossing of the Congost river via the existing bridge on Carrer de les Tres Creus; 346.63 m² of occupation.
  • Section 2: from the electrical line of the Mesura reception center to the same crossing of the Congost river via the bridge on Carrer de les Tres Creus; 598.30 m² of occupation.
  • Total: 944.93 m² of public domain subsoil affected by the concession.

Both sections follow the layout of the electrical infrastructure that powers the facility and converge at the same crossing point of the Congost river, on Carrer de les Tres Creus.

Public information and allegations

Interested parties may examine the file and submit any claims or allegations they deem appropriate within a period of 30 business days. The agreement and the administrative document regulating the concession can be consulted in full on the notice board of the municipal electronic office, accessible at www.montmelo.cat. If no claim or allegation is submitted within this period, the approval agreement will become final without the need to adopt a new one.
