Montejo de Tiermes somete a información pública las nuevas tarifas del agua

The Montejo de Tiermes City Council has provisionally approved the modification of the rates of the fiscal ordinances regulating the water supply, garbage collection, and sewerage—three services that are reflected in the bills of all residents of the municipality. The agreement was adopted by the Plenary of the corporation in a session held on October 2, 2026, and the file is now subject to public consultation for thirty business days for the submission of claims. The edict is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Soria number 116, corresponding to Wednesday, October 7, 2026, on page 3427, with the official reference BOPSO-116-07102026.

Provisional approval and period for allegations

The announcement, signed by Mayor Carlos Vilalta Alonso on October 5, 2026, specifies that the provisional approval was adopted in compliance with the provisions of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries. This regulation requires a public exhibition process before any modification of fiscal ordinances is made final, so that interested parties may examine the file and object if they deem it appropriate.

The enabled period is thirty business days and is counted from the day following the insertion of the edict in the Official Gazette of the Province of Soria. During this period, interested parties may file as many claims as they deem appropriate against the revision of the rates.

The edict itself establishes the effect of this procedure: if no claim is submitted, the modification will be definitively approved without the need for a new plenary agreement. The publication in the provincial gazette is, therefore, the starting point for the count and the only official announcement of the procedure.

The three affected services

The revision groups the rates of three municipal services into a single file:

  • Water supply.
  • Garbage collection.
  • Sewerage.

The published text does not detail the amounts, consumption brackets, or the percentages of the increase, which must be consulted in the complete file. The modification is processed jointly for the three services, such that the update of the fiscal ordinances equally affects the three concepts that usually appear on the subscribers’ home bills.

Other files from the same city council

In the same issue of the gazette, the Montejo de Tiermes City Council publishes two other announcements that complete its administrative activity for these days:

  • The final approval of Credit Modification and Extraordinary Credit File No. 1/26, of the 2026 General Municipal Budget, for a total of 182,800.00 euros. The agreement was adopted in the plenary session of May 29, 2026, and is financed by higher revenues (95,000.00 euros) and charged to the liquid treasury surplus for general expenses (87,800.00 euros). A contentious-administrative appeal may be filed against it within two months.
  • The initial approval of the technical project for work No. 176, included in the 2026-27 Provincial Council Plan, for the rehabilitation of a municipal building intended for rental housing in Ligos, drafted by the architect Asunción Ruiz Ballano, with fifteen business days of public information.

The credit modification distributes the increase in the expenditure budget among chapters 1 (2,800.00 euros), 2 (19,500.00 euros), 4 (3,000.00 euros), 6 (132,500.00 euros), and 7 (25,000.00 euros), according to the summary by chapters accompanying the announcement.

Impact for residents

The revision of water, waste, and sewage rates has a direct impact on the bill paid by the residents of Montejo de Tiermes, as the three services are settled jointly. The thirty-business-day period opened with the publication of the edict is the only means of citizen participation before the new tariffs are definitively approved, and its count begins the day after the insertion of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province of Soria.
