Montederramo announces grants of up to 70 euros per student for school supplies

The Montederramo City Council announces grants of up to 70 euros per student for the acquisition of school materials for the 2026-2027 academic year. The call was approved by Mayoral Decree 2026-0433, dated September 16, 2026, and is made known through the extract of the regulatory bases published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ourense on September 21, 2026 (R. 2.233). Families registered in the municipality have one month, counting from the day following the publication, to submit the application.

The publication of the extract responds to the mandate of articles 17.3 b) and 20.8.a) of Law 38/2003, of November 17, general on subsidies, which requires the publicity of subsidy calls approved by local administrations. The text bears the signature of the mayor, Óscar Diéguez González, and is part of the municipal support line for the start of the school year.

The measure is not an isolated case in the province. In the same issue of the gazette, the Verea City Council publishes the final approval of its regulatory ordinance for school material grants (R. 2.148), which are delivered via vouchers redeemable at an agreed bookstore, and the modification of the ordinance for birth or adoption grants, with a 300-euro voucher (R. 2.146). In Montederramo, on the other hand, an annual call with a fixed amount per student was chosen.

Who can apply for the grants

Beneficiaries may be the parents or persons exercising legal guardianship or custody of students enrolled in the 2026-2027 course in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, and Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) centers. The requirements are as follows:

• That one of the parents or the guardian be registered in the Montederramo City Council and at the same address as the student on the date of publication of the bases.
• That the student be registered in the municipality and at the same address as the applicant.
• That the applicant be up to date with the payment of tax obligations to the State Tax Agency, the Autonomous Tax Agency, Social Security, and the city council itself.

In the case of parents with several children, a single application shall be submitted.

What material is subsidized and what is excluded

The grant covers textbooks, workbooks, writing and drawing materials, sheet music, maps, cardstock, modeling clay, sheets of paper, pens, pencils, markers, paints, tempera, watercolors, glues, children’s scissors, compasses, rulers, basic calculators, dictionaries, pencil cases, backpacks, and other items of a school nature.

The following are expressly excluded:

• Uniforms and clothing or sports equipment.
• Staplers and hole punchers.
• Electronic material of any kind: computers, USB drives, ink and toner cartridges, printers, label makers, ebooks, digital platforms, and other computing devices.

Deadline, form of presentation, and documentation

The deadline is one month from the day following the publication of the summary in the provincial bulletin. Applications are submitted in person at the General Registry of the Montederramo City Council, according to the model in Annex I of the bases, or electronically at the municipal electronic office (montederramo.sedelectronica.gal). Any of the means listed in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, are also admitted, although in that case, the justification of the submission must be sent to the email concello.montederramo@eidolocal.es on the same day.

The documentation to be provided is as follows:

• Application signed by the parent or guardian (Annex I).
• Copy of the DNI of the applicant.
• Copy of the family book or equivalent document.
• Certification from the school center or accreditation of enrollment for the 2026-2027 course.
• Bank account ownership certificate of the applicant.
• Regulatory agreement or judicial sentence in case of divorce, separation, or custody of the minor, if applicable.

The submission of the application implies the unconditional acceptance of the bases.

The call arrives with the course already started and with school material expenses that families assume in September. For households registered in Montederramo with children in Preschool, Primary, or ESO, the one-month deadline from the publication in the bulletin is the only window to claim a grant of up to 70 euros per student, therefore it is advisable to review the documentation before it expires.
