Monforte convoca 10.000 euros en bolsas para deportistas individuais de rendemento

The City Council of Monforte de Lemos announces grants for individual athletes for the 2025-2026 season, endowed with 10,000 euros, aimed at those who have participated in at least one Spanish, European, or world championship in their discipline. The call, signed by Mayor José Tomé Roca on October 14, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo number 240, corresponding to Tuesday, October 20, 2026, with reference R. 2828 and the National Grants Database identifier BDNS 935298. Interested parties have only ten business days to submit their application.

The call is processed under a competitive bidding regime and in accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, general grants law, which requires the publication of the summary of the bases in the official provincial gazette and the submission of the full text to the National Grants Database. The full text of the regulatory bases can be consulted on the municipal website, www.monfortedelemos.es, in the grants section.

The declared objective of the bases is to regulate financial aid for individual athletes from the municipality who prove a minimum competitive level: having participated, at minimum, in a Spanish, European, or world championship specific to the sporting discipline during the period subject to the call, that is, between October 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026.

Ten business day deadline

The deadline for submitting applications is ten business days counting from the day following the publication of the summary of the bases in the Official Gazette of Lugo. The call is published in number 240, on October 20, therefore the count begins on October 21 and expires its ten business days in early November, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Applications must be formalized using the standardized forms provided by the City Council at three points:

  • The General Registry of the Monforte de Lemos City Council.
  • The community social services of the municipality.
  • The municipal website www.monfortedelemos.es.

Registration, federation, and three official tests

The bases establish five conditions to access the aid, which are added to the requirement of international or national participation:

  • Be registered as a resident (empadronado) in the Concello de Monforte de Lemos within the application submission period and, at a minimum, since October 1, 2025.
  • Be federated in one of the Galician or Spanish sports federations during the period for which the aid is requested, between October 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026.
  • Have participated in at least three official events or championships, one of which must necessarily be the Spanish, European, or World championship of the modality.
  • Be up to date with tax obligations to the state and regional treasuries, as well as with Social Security and the Concello de Monforte.
  • Not be subject to any case of incapacity or incompatibility to receive public aid, nor to the legal prohibitions to be a beneficiary of subsidies.

Credit of 10,000 euros

The financing of the grants is carried out from a credit of 10,000.00 euros, according to the fourth point of the published extract. The guidelines do not detail the maximum number of beneficiaries nor the individual amount per athlete in the announcement, which refer to the full text of the regulatory bases accessible on the municipal website.

The call limits its application to individual athletes, meaning that clubs, sports entities, and teams are excluded, as other municipalities in the province have their own subsidy lines. The same edition of the bulletin includes other sports calls, such as those for Ribadeo, with an amount of 7,900 euros and a deadline of fifteen calendar days.

Processing through competitive bidding implies that applications are compared with each other and ordered according to the valuation criteria of the bases, without submission within the deadline guaranteeing the granting of the aid on its own.

The call arrives with a tight schedule: ten business days to gather the supporting documentation of residency, federation license, and sports results. For individual athletes from Monforte who compete outside the municipality in disciplines such as athletics, swimming, cycling, judo, or weightlifting, this line of aid represents direct support for season expenses, travel, and registrations in official competitions. The coincidence of the deadline with the start of the autumn-winter season makes it advisable to consult the full bases on the municipal website before submitting the application at the registry.
