Monforte admits 238 applicants for four local police positions

The Monforte de Lemos City Council admitted 238 applicants and excluded only five in the selection process to fill four local police officer positions. The resolution was issued by the mayor-president on September 25, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lugo no. 224, on September 30, 2026, with reference R. 2589.

The call refers to four career civil servant positions, open competition, in the basic scale of the local police, group C1, through the system of open competitive examination. The provisional list of admitted and excluded persons was approved by resolution on September 1, 2026, and published in the BOP of Lugo no. 206, on September 9, 2026 (R. 2392), with a total of 221 admitted and 22 excluded.

From the provisional to the final list

After the period of ten business days to correct defects and submit claims, the final list increased the number of admitted persons from 221 to 238 and reduced exclusions from 22 to five. The total number of applications submitted remains at 243.

The five excluded and the causes

The resolution details by name the five excluded persons and the reason for each exclusion:

• Carolina Baños Ameneiro: payment of the fee is not recorded.
• Raúl Couso Novo: payment of the fee is not recorded.
• Óscar Eiroa Sande: the level of the academic qualification presented is lower than required.
• Adrián Macedo Rodríguez: documentation submitted outside the established deadline.
• Marco Patiño Pedreira: presentation of the required academic qualification is not recorded.

Galician language knowledge test

List C includes the 50 admitted applicants who are not exempt from the Galician language knowledge test, among them Reinaldo Abal Chaves, Elena Izabela Albu Albu, Carmelo Álvarez Lemes, Andreia Batista Lopes, Miguel Benavides Alonso, Alejandro Borja Pedreira, Sandra Cabado Real, Nerea Campo Castro, and Sandra Carreiras Souto.

Competition for four positions

The final list confirms very high competition: 238 admitted persons for four announced positions, meaning nearly 60 candidates per post. The resolution was signed in Monforte de Lemos on September 25, 2026, by the first deputy mayor, Gloria María Prada Rodríguez.

The process is thus closed in its admission phase, with the publication of the final list that enables applicants to be summoned to the tests. For the residents of Monforte, the figure reflects both the attractiveness of the position and the strong competition that the candidates will face.
