Por FactBox Admin

The Moncofa City Council has launched the call for Bono Comercio financial aid, with a maximum amount of 6,000 euros, aiming to promote small local businesses and stimulate the municipality’s economy. The resolution, signed by Mayor Wenceslao Alós Valls on August 27, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Castellón number 104, dated August 29, 2026, with reference 03856-2026-U and file 5521/2026.

The call is supported by the municipal ordinance regulating the Bono Comercio Moncofa financial aid, published in BOP number 139, dated November 20, 2025, and approved by plenary agreement on September 25, 2025. The expenditure, authorized following the prior audit report number 2026-0217 from the municipal delegated comptroller, is charged to the budget application CMC.430.480001 “Subsidies for local trade promotion” of the 2026 municipal Budget.

How the vouchers work

The vouchers take the form of electronic prepaid cards worth 50 euros, which citizens purchase for 20 euros, with the City Council subsidizing the remaining amount. A maximum of 200 vouchers will be made available, with a limit of one per person.

  • Value of each card: 50 euros, for a sale price of 20 euros.
  • Beneficiaries: individuals over 18 years of age registered as residents in Moncofa at least one year prior to the call.
  • Vouchers are not redeemable for cash, nor is the unused balance refundable.
  • The amount may be split across several purchases until the balance is exhausted.

Campaign Calendar

The promotional campaign, which coincides with the period for using the vouchers, will take place between October 26 and November 22, both inclusive. The procedure is resolved under a competitive concurrence regime, based on the order of application.

  • Business enrollment: from August 31 to September 2.
  • Voucher application: from September 7 (09:00 h) to September 9.
  • Payment for vouchers: from October 15 to October 18.
  • Card collection: from October 26 to October 28.

Requirements and Processing

Businesses with a fixed, permanent establishment open to the public in Moncofa may enroll, provided they have a POS terminal compatible with the voucher card and submit Annex I with their FUC. Applications are submitted via the City Council registry, using the specific form, a copy of the NIF/NIE, and a responsible declaration of being up to date with tax and Social Security obligations.

The payment of 20 euros is made by transfer to account ES22 3111 5099 4020 8576 1522 at Caja Rural La Vall San Isidro, indicating the DNI in the concept field. Failure to pay or collect the card within the deadline will result in the exclusion of the beneficiary, with the contribution being refunded only if the card has not been delivered.

The award resolution will be published on the notice board of the City Council’s electronic office and in the BOP, with the publication replacing the notification. The maximum period for resolution is six months, and the receipt of the aid is subject to, and not exempt from, Personal Income Tax (IRPF).

Impact for the municipality

With this initiative, Moncofa reinforces its commitment to local commerce, channeling 6,000 euros of the municipal budget toward participating establishments and offering residents an effective discount of 30 euros per voucher. The measure seeks to reactivate local consumption in a coastal municipality and consolidate the network of small businesses as a driver of the town’s economy and employment.
