Moncofa issues local commerce vouchers for 6,000 euros

The Moncofa City Council has announced the Bono Comercio (Commerce Voucher) economic aid campaign, with a maximum total amount of 6,000 euros aimed at promoting and boosting small local businesses within the municipality. The resolution, signed by Mayor Wenceslao Alós Valls, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Castellón number 104, dated August 29, 2026, with reference 03856-2026-U and file 5521/2026.

The call is based on the municipal ordinance regulating these aids, published in the BOP of Castellón number 139, dated November 20, 2025, approved by plenary agreement on September 25, 2025. The expenditure has a favorable prior audit report number 2026-0217, issued by the municipal delegated comptroller on August 26, 2026, and is financed through budget allocation CMC.430.480001 “Subsidies for local commerce promotion” of the 2026 municipal Budget.

How the vouchers work

The campaign is structured through prepaid cards of 50 euros sold to citizens for 20 euros, with a maximum of 200 vouchers available. The Moncofa City Council subsidizes the difference between the sale price and the value of the card.

• Vouchers may be acquired by persons over 18 years of age registered as residents in Moncofa at least one year prior to the call.
• Limit of one voucher per person.
• Vouchers are not redeemable for cash and any unused balance will be lost at the end of the campaign.
• The amount may be split across several purchases until the balance is exhausted.

Campaign Calendar

The promotional campaign, which coincides with the period for using the vouchers, will take place between October 26 and November 22, both inclusive. The procedure is resolved on a competitive basis, according to the order in which applications are submitted.

• Business enrollment: from August 31 to September 2.
• Voucher application: from September 7 (at 09:00) to September 9.
• Payment for vouchers: from October 15 to 18.
• Voucher collection: from October 26 to 28.

Requirements and Processing

Businesses with a fixed establishment open to the public within the municipality of Moncofa may join the campaign, provided they have a POS terminal compatible with the voucher card and submit Annex I of the call with their identification number (FUC). Applications must be submitted to the City Council registry using the specific form, including a copy of the NIF/NIE and a responsible declaration stating they are up to date with tax and Social Security obligations.

Persons proposed as beneficiaries must deposit the 20 euros of their contribution via transfer to account ES22 3111 5099 4020 8576 1522 of Caja Rural La Vall San Isidro, indicating their ID number (DNI) in the payment reference. Failure to pay within the deadline will result in exclusion from the final list of beneficiaries. The maximum period for resolution and notification is six months, and the resolution will be published on the electronic headquarters notice board and in the BOP.

The call for applications provides a direct boost to the commercial fabric of Moncofa by channeling 6,000 euros toward consumption in participating establishments and benefiting merchants, freelancers, and residents of the municipality. The receipt of the aid is subject to, and not exempt from, Personal Income Tax (IRPF), and is compatible with other subsidies provided that the cost of the subsidized activity is not exceeded.
