Mollet del Vallès approves dining hall and book grants for the 2026-2027 school year
Por FactBox Admin

The Mollet del Vallès City Council has definitively approved the modification of the regulatory bases for subsidies for the supplement of school canteen aid and for the acquisition of textbooks, school materials, and school trips within school hours for the 2026-2027 academic year. The decision, which directly affects families with school-age children, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona on August 26, 2026, with official reference CVE 202610134774 and file 219148Y.
The processing was carried out under a competitive bidding regime and stems from Mayor’s resolution number 2759, dated June 3, 2026, which initially approved the bases for reasons of urgency. The City Council Plenary fully ratified this resolution on June 29, 2026, and the agreement was published in the BOPB on July 10, 2026 (CVE 202610116735). The document bears the signature of the mayor, Mireia Dionisio Calé.
Processing and public exhibition
The bases were subject to public information for a period of twenty business days, through publication in the BOPB on June 5, 2026 (CVE 202610102896), on the municipal notice board, and on the City Council’s electronic headquarters. Once the exhibition period ended without any allegations being presented, the initial approval was elevated to definitive without further processing, effective from July 7, 2026.
The municipal secretary issued the corresponding certificate on August 11, 2026, which summarizes the entire procedure followed.
Scope of the subsidies
The approved bases regulate two lines of subsidies under a competitive bidding regime:
- Supplement for school canteen aid for the 2026-2027 academic year.
- Acquisition of textbooks, school materials, and school trips within school hours for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Both lines are called for the upcoming school year and are addressed to families registered in the municipality with school-age children.
Appeals and effects
Against the resolution, which exhausts administrative remedies, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Catalonia, within a period of two months starting from the day following its publication.
With this definitive approval, families in Mollet del Vallès now have the final regulatory framework to apply for canteen and school material aid for the next academic year, a key support to alleviate educational expenses for households with school-age children.
