Por FactBox Admin

The Molins de Rei City Council has opened the call for transport grants for students in post-compulsory studies for the 2025-2026 academic year, with a budget of 3,000 euros and a maximum of 150 euros per application. The call is activated by Mayoral Decree number 2495, dated October 22, 2026, and its summary is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona (BOPB) on November 5, 2026, with reference CVE 202610164609 and identification number BDNS 939242.
The measure aims to facilitate access to studies and reduce the risk of early school leaving among the municipality’s youth who must travel outside Molins de Rei to continue their education. The grants are governed by the Regulatory Ordinance for the granting of subsidies of the Molins de Rei City Council, approved by the Municipal Plenary on January 25, 2018, and published in full in the BOPB on February 15, 2018, and by the specific rules approved by the Municipal Plenary in the ordinary session of June 25, 2026.
What it covers and who it is for
The call finances the transport of students registered in Molins de Rei who pursue post-compulsory studies outside the municipality, in public, subsidized (concertats), or authorized private centers. The covered studies are:
- Baccalaureate.
- Vocational Training Cycles.
- PFI (Training and Integration Programs).
- Equivalent special regime studies.
To apply for the grant, one must be registered in Molins de Rei before October 1 of the year in which the course began, be between 17 years old (or turn 17 during the current year) and 25 years old, and have pursued post-compulsory studies in public centers, including PFI, CFGB, CFGM, CFGS, baccalaureate, or equivalent special regime studies.
Budget, amounts, and resolution
The budget line supporting the grants is 2026.3040.320001.48002, “Transport grants for post-compulsory studies,” with a global amount of 3,000 euros. Distribution is carried out through competitive bidding:

- The maximum grant is 150 euros per application.
The qualifying commission is the collegiate body that formulates the award proposal based on the documentation and the report from the Education Department, and submits it to the Mayor’s Office. It consists, at a minimum, of the presidency of the Area of Personal Services or a delegated person, two members—the head of the Education Department and the Education technician—and a secretary, who will be the Education technician. The commission must meet within a maximum period of ten days after the application period ends. The resolution is the responsibility of the Mayor’s Office, which will publish the anonymized result on the municipal website and expressly state the rejection of the remaining requests.
Deadlines and submission methods
The submission period begins the day after the publication of the call in the BOPB of Barcelona and extends for a maximum of 30 calendar days, thus ending on December 5, 2026. Applications are submitted via a generic request on the municipal website, using a basic digital signature such as idcat mòbil, and the required documentation must be attached in the online procedures section. As a last resort, it can be submitted in person by appointment at the City Council’s Citizen Service Office, at Rubió i Ors Street, 2-4, or through any other means provided for in Article 16 of Law 39/2015.
If the documentation is incorrect or incomplete, the applicant will be required to rectify it within a maximum period of ten business days; otherwise, the application will be considered withdrawn. Against the resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, an optional appeal for reversal may be filed within one month. The full text of the call can be consulted in the National Grants Database and on the municipal electronic office. The document appears signed by the mayor, Xavi Paz Penche, dated October 30, 2026.
For families with children who have already completed compulsory education, this 3,000 euro line is the only specific municipal aid to cover daily travel to baccalaureate centers, vocational training cycles, or training and insertion programs that do not exist in the municipality, and it arrives after the course has already started, with a cap of 150 euros which may fall below the actual cost of transport depending on the number of requests submitted.
