Modúbar de la Cuesta puts bar and housing up for tender with a base bid of 50 euros

The Neighborhood Council of Modúbar de la Cuesta has called for tenders for the lease of a premises intended for a bar and a dwelling located in the town’s Plaza Mayor. The agreement was adopted by Mayoral resolution on September 24, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Burgos no. 187, corresponding to Thursday, October 1, 2026, with the official reference BOPBUR-2026-04173. The bidding base is 50 euros per month, and interested parties have fifteen calendar days to submit their offers.

The announcement is signed by the local mayor Rita Puente Grijalvo in Carcedo de Burgos on September 25, 2026. The assets subject to the contract are the property of the Minor Local Entity of Modúbar de la Cuesta, belonging to the City Council of Carcedo de Burgos, and are classified as patrimonial assets. The affected property is listed with the cadastral reference 8394809VM4789S0001MM.

The object of the competition

The lease comprises two distinct spaces within the same building in the Plaza Mayor:

• Space intended for bar activity, located on the ground floor, with an area of 112 m², where the bar, the kitchen, and the access to the dwelling are located.
• Space intended for housing, located on the first floor, with an area of 94.20 m².

The contract is formalized as a lease of assets classified as patrimonial and is awarded through a competition procedure. The detailed list of conditions is found in the specifications published on the electronic office of the minor local entity.

Duration, price, and offer deadline

The lease will have an initial duration of one year, with the possibility of extension by agreement of the parties for another three years. The base bidding budget is set at 50 euros per month, with the possibility of upward improvement according to the provisions of the specifications.

The deadline for submitting offers is fifteen calendar days counting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province of Burgos, that is, starting from October 2, 2026.

The call for applications comes at a time when small rural centers are seeking formulas to keep their local services open. The joint lease of the bar and the dwelling allows the successful bidder to reside in the same building where they carry out the activity, which enhances the attractiveness of the offer for those wishing to settle in the town. Furthermore, the operation provides a recurring income to the coffers of the Entidad Local Menor (Minor Local Entity) and puts to use a heritage property that until now generated no return. For the residents of Modúbar de la Cuesta, the result of the competition will determine the continuity of the municipality’s only hospitality venue and, with it, a social meeting point in the Plaza Mayor.
