Moaña opens grants of 300 and 400 euros for international athletes
Por FactBox Admin

The Moaña City Council announces financial aid for athletes in the youth and absolute categories who participate in international competition championships throughout 2026. The Local Government Board approved the specific bases and the call for applications in its session on October 19, 2026, and the extract of the agreement is published in BOPPO no. 205 on Friday, October 23, 2026, in the Local Administration section, under reference BDNS 936393.
The publication is made under articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, general subsidies, which requires the dissemination of an extract of the calls whose full text is available in the National Subsidy Database. The document bears the secure verification code 3GQRSYYJBENZ44EW and is signed by the mayor, Leticia Santos Paz, dated October 20, 2026.
Requirements: registration and federative license
The grants are individual and personal and are only granted for official international competition sporting events held more than 600 kilometers from the municipal boundary of Moaña. The disciplines must have Galician and Spanish federations recognized by the Higher Sports Council, and the subsidy only applies when the corresponding federation does not fully cover the costs of travel, accommodation, or maintenance.
To apply for the aid, the following requirements must be met:
- Be registered in the Moaña City Council prior to January 1, 2026, a fact that is verified ex officio by the municipal Register.
- Be in possession of a valid federative license in the corresponding discipline.
- Have been selected by the Spanish or Galician federation to participate in international competitions held or planned for 2026.
- Not be serving a serious or very serious disciplinary or administrative sporting sanction.
- Be up to date with tax obligations to the AEAT, ATRIGA, TGSS, and the council itself, and meet the requirements of article 10 of Law 9/2007, of June 13, on subsidies in Galicia.
Amounts of 300 and 400 euros per person per year
The amount is unique per person per year and varies depending on the distance to the location of the championship:
- 300 euros when the location is between 600 and 1,000 kilometers from Moaña, both inclusive.
- 400 euros when the championship is held more than 1,000 kilometers away.
In no case may the aid exceed the portion of the expense contributed by the athlete themselves. If the number of applicants who meet the requirements exhausts the budget forecast collected in base I, a proportional reduction will be applied to the amounts of all granted aids so that the fund can cover all applications.
Ten business days and processing by non-competitive concurrence
The deadline for submitting applications is ten business days starting from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOPPO, that is, from October 24, 2026; if the last day were a non-working day, it shall be extended to the first following business day. Applications must be submitted completed, signed, and with the indicated documentation, using the official model of Annex I, available in the Procedures Catalogue of the municipal electronic office and on the institutional website.
The processing is carried out under a non-competitive concurrence regime, in accordance with Law 9/2007 and Decree 11/2009, of January 8, which approves the Regulation of the Subsidies Law. The council justifies this regime based on the purpose of the call: to promote sport through a grant fund that facilitates participation in international-level competitions. The regulatory bases are published on the electronic office of the Moaña Council.
The call directly affects clubs, federations, and families in the municipality, who usually assume the travel costs of athletes selected for competitions outside of Galicia. The maximum amount of 400 euros per person per year covers only part of the expense, therefore the grant functions as a supplement to federative and family contributions.
