Mijares urgently auctions two lots of wood burned by fire

The Mijares City Council has published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ávila (No. 169, dated September 2, 2026) the auction for the utilization of two lots of timber classified as extraordinary forced due to forest fire, which will be awarded through an open urgent procedure and under a direct award regime. The announcements, signed by Mayor Soraya Blázquez Domínguez on August 27, correspond to files AV-MAD-0580-2026 and AV-MAD-0581-2026.

The processing follows the “urgent” status provided for in regional regulations and in the specifications drawn up by the Territorial Environment Service of Ávila, which expressly classify the lots as extraordinary due to forest fire emergency. The objective is to expedite the disposal of the affected timber to prevent the spread of pests, which is why ordinary contracting deadlines do not apply.

Two lots with differentiated minimum prices

Each lot is disposed of as a patrimonial asset, with price as the sole award criterion, provided that the minimums set by the Regional Government of Castilla y León are exceeded:

• Lot AV-MAD-0580-2026 (announcement No. 1759/26): minimum disposal price of €91,916.15 and index value of €114,895.19.
• Lot AV-MAD-0581-2026 (announcement No. 1758/26): minimum disposal price of €160,319.88 and index value of €200,399.85.
• In both cases, VAT will be as legally applicable, and the contracting body is the Mayor’s Office, which will resolve based on the best economic offer.

Reduced deadline and in-person submission

The deadline for submitting offers is seven calendar days from the publication of the announcement in the provincial gazette, from 9:30 to 14:00 hours. Applications are only accepted in person at the Registry of the Mijares City Council, and electronic auctions are not applicable.

The opening of proposals will be held on the second business day following the closing of the deadline, in the Municipal Plenary Hall at 14:30 hours. Two offers from the same bidder for the same lot will not be admitted, and in such a case, both would be rejected.

Conditions and applicable regulations

The particular technical-faculty specifications are available to interested parties on the City Council’s electronic headquarters and at the addresses ayuntamiento@mijares.es and www.mijares.es. Offers must clearly state the amount, the commitment to harvest within the urgent deadlines set by the Territorial Environment Service, and full compliance with the municipal specifications and instructions.

The contracting is governed by the Forestry Law of Castilla y León, the Public Administration Heritage Law, public sector contract regulations, local regime regulations, and other sectoral legislation, with jurisdiction in Arenas de San Pedro.

The urgency of this disposal underscores the impact of the fire in the district of Mijares and the need to quickly remove the damaged timber to protect the surviving forest mass. For sector operators, the window of only seven days and the direct award make this auction a limited opportunity, but also a logistical challenge to meet the harvesting deadlines imposed by the environmental administration.
