Mieres convoca ayudas de 175.000 euros para familias con menores

The Mieres City Council has published in the Official Gazette of the Principality of Asturias (BOPA) the call for social emergency financial aid for families with dependent minors, with a total budget of €175,000.00. The announcement, signed by the Delegate Councilor for Social Rights on September 3, 2026, appears in issue number 179 of the gazette, dated September 16, 2026, within the Local Administration section.

The call is processed in application of the bases and regulatory ordinance approved by the Plenary Council in the session held on February 27, 2026, published in BOPA no. 98. Its purpose is to cover specific extraordinary expenses to prevent, avoid, alleviate, or minimize deficiency situations, social emergencies, or situations of risk of social exclusion.

Purpose and Beneficiaries

The aid is directed toward independent economic coexistence units that have minors under their care and have not been deprived of guardianship and custody, provided that their resources are insufficient to meet expenses directly related to the well-being of the minors.

Eligible expenses are linked to:

  • Food
  • Hygiene
  • Clothing and footwear
  • Health
  • Education

The stated objective of the call is to ensure the full enjoyment of the rights of minors in situations of vulnerability.

Deadline and Application Method

Applications may be submitted within a period of 10 business days starting from the day following the publication of the call in the BOPA. The application form is available in Annex I of the call.

Documentation shall be submitted through the Electronic Registry of the Mieres City Council or by any of the means indicated in article 16.4.a) of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

Publication and Official Reference

The summary of the call is published in accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17. The full text can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database (BDNS), with identifier 928411.

The call comes at a time when families with dependent minors constitute one of the groups most exposed to social exclusion, and this allocation of 175,000 euros represents a direct reinforcement of the municipal protection network to guarantee the basic needs of childhood.
