Miajadas approves extraordinary credit of 2.8 million for investments

The Miajadas City Council has finalized credit modification file no. 9/2026, in the form of an extraordinary credit/credit supplement, for a total amount of 2,856,990.44 euros. The approval is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres (reference BOP-2026-4099) on Monday, August 31, 2026.

The plenary agreement, adopted on July 29, 2026, was automatically finalized as no objections were filed during the public exhibition period, in accordance with article 169.1, by referral of 177.2, of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries (Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5). The announcement is signed by the acting mayor, Jesús Sánchez Rollizo, dated August 27, 2026.

Security, traffic and fiber optics

The bulk of the budget increases is allocated to security and civil protection, with 82,000 euros for the general security administration program, which includes the replacement of security cameras, police management software, AXIS server, and automatic video surveillance systems. For traffic management, 66,000 euros are allocated for road signage and the replacement of the fiber optic communications network.

Paving and drinking water

The public road paving program concentrates 291,307 euros, with allocations for the Sevilla Street road (2nd phase), urbanizations on Trujillo Avenue and Muñoz Chaves Street, speed reducers in the industrial estate, and paving in outlying districts. For drinking water supply, 323,731.41 euros are reserved, including the expansion of the ETAP (Drinking Water Treatment Plant) for 300,000 euros.

LED lighting and other services

The public lighting program totals 279,000 euros, with 100,000 euros for the conversion of public lighting to LED and allocations for generator sets, improvement of electrical networks, energy efficiency, and the low-voltage network of the street market. An additional 149,000 euros are added for parks and gardens, 50,000 euros for cemeteries, and 43,000 euros for the protection and improvement of the environment.

Financing and resources

The expenses are financed, in accordance with article 177.4 of the TRLRHL and article 36.1.a) of Royal Decree 500/1990, of April 20, charged to the Net Liquid Treasury Surplus for General Expenses, which covers the totality of the modifications for 2,856,990.44 euros. An administrative appeal may be filed against the agreement within the time limits set forth in articles 25 to 42 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, without its filing alone suspending the effectiveness of the agreement.

The approval allows the council to undertake works and services that lacked allocated credit in the current budget, with a direct impact on security, mobility, water supply, and the energy efficiency of the municipality.
