Madrid Metro awards technological supplies for over two million

Metro de Madrid, S. A. has formalized and awarded four contracts for supplies, technological services, and maintenance in the month of August, published in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid number 205, dated August 28, 2026. The announcements, signed by the Ministry of Housing, Transport and Infrastructure, have a combined estimated value of 2,831,479.74 euros and affect software, network hardware, batteries, and elevating platforms.

The files are processed by the Procurement and Corporate Services Area of the public company, via an open procedure and ordinary processing, and are published on the Public Procurement Portal of the Community of Madrid. Two of the contracts correspond to formalizations signed on August 19 by the Head of the Procurement Area, María Olalla Pascual Gallardo, and another two to awards from August 25 signed by the Head of the Contract Execution Service, Elena de la Iglesia Toribios.

Formalization of software and hardware contracts

Announcement 10 formalizes the mixed contract for “Support and maintenance of Documentum licenses for Metro de Madrid” (file 6012600134, contract 7226000442), with an estimated value of 474,779.74 euros. It was awarded on July 7 to VASS Consultoría de Sistemas, S. L. for 421,313.86 euros excluding VAT (509,789.77 euros including VAT), after receiving two bids, one of which was from an SME.

Announcement 11 formalizes the “Hardware replacement support service for Cisco equipment” (file 6012600083, contract 7226000432), with an estimated value of 1,124,700 euros. Awarded on July 7 to ACUNTIA, S. A. U. for 699,435.75 euros excluding VAT (846,317.26 euros including VAT), also with two bids submitted.

Awarding of batteries and elevating platforms

Announcement 13 awards the supply of NiCd batteries for the maintenance of the 3000 series trains (file 6012600160), with an estimated value of 682,000 euros. The contract, awarded on May 24, went to SAFT Baterías, S. L. for 548,376.08 euros excluding VAT (663,535.06 euros including VAT), with two bids from SMEs.

Announcement 14 awards the supply of mobile scissor and articulated elevating platforms (file 6012500119), with an estimated value of 550,000 euros and division into two lots:

• Lot 1 (six battery-powered electric scissor platforms): awarded to GAM España Servicios de Maquinaria, S. L. U. for 58,200 euros excluding VAT (70,422 euros including VAT), with seven bids.
• Lot 2 (seven battery-powered electric articulated platforms): awarded to TERMISER Servicios Integrales, S. L. for 361,788.98 euros excluding VAT (437,764.67 euros including VAT), with four bids.

In this file, awarded on August 24, the award criterion was the best value for money, with 70 points for economic criteria and 30 for qualitative criteria.

Relevance for suppliers and users

The four operations, totaling awards of 2,089,114.67 euros excluding VAT, guarantee the maintenance of the suburban network’s document management systems and communications networks, as well as the replacement of batteries for the 3000 series fleet and the renewal of lifting machinery for high-altitude work. For suppliers, the announcements confirm the public company’s tendering activity and the electronic channel for submitting bids; for users, they ensure the operational and maintenance continuity of the transport network.
